As demand for AI infrastructure continues to surge across the region, Vertiv has officially opened a new manufacturing facility in Johor that will produce power, cooling and integrated infrastructure solutions for AI and traditional data centres across Asia.
Located in Senai, Johor, the new Vertiv facility spans approximately 236,000 sq ft (21,900 sq m) and will serve customers across Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
According to Vertiv, the facility expands its regional manufacturing, engineering, logistics and deployment capabilities to support growing demand for AI and high-density computing infrastructure.
Vertiv CEO Giordano (Gio) Albertazzi said, “Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing regions for AI and digital infrastructure investment, and expanding our manufacturing footprint in Malaysia aims to further enhance our ability to support customers with quality, speed, scale, and resilience.”
The company said customers deploying increasingly demanding AI workloads require partners capable of delivering power, cooling and supporting infrastructure at scale, and the Johor plant is expected to strengthen its regional deployment capabilities.
Creating up to 500 skilled jobs by 2027

Beyond manufacturing capacity, the new facility is expected to create up to 500 skilled jobs for the region when it is fully operational in 2027.
During the launch, Invest Johor CEO Tuan Haji Natazha Hariss said “We are pleased to welcome Vertiv’s investment in Johor, which reflects the growing confidence in the state’s role as a strategic hub for digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing. Beyond the capital investment, what is especially meaningful is the creation of high-value jobs, opportunities for local talent development, and stronger industry capabilities that will benefit Johor over the long term.”
Johor has rapidly emerged as Malaysia’s data centre hub, attracting investments from global cloud providers, hyperscalers and technology companies.
Johor has reportedly approved 42 data centre projects worth more than RM164 billion.
The company added that beyond hosting data centres, the state also offers an established manufacturing ecosystem, experienced industrial workforce and strong logistics connectivity, making it well positioned to support the broader digital infrastructure supply chain.
Built to support demand for AI infrastructure

According to Vertiv, the Johor facility provides end-to-end manufacturing, assembly and witness testing for thermal management and power infrastructure, This enables the company to delivery high-density solutions with validated performance to help reduce deployment risks and accelerate time to capacity for customers across enterprise, cloud and colocation environments.
Among the products manufactured at the site are Vertiv CoolChip Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) for liquid-cooled AI servers, including direct-to-chip and rear-door heat exchangers for high density racks.
It will also produce Vertiv Power Module and Vertiv Power Skid prefabricated power infrastructure, which the company says can reduce power system deployment time by up to 50% compared to traditional builds.

The facility will also manufacture the Vertiv SmartRun integrated prefabricated overhead infrastructure system, which combines busways, liquid cooling piping, networking and containment into a unified system.
According to Vertiv, this can reduce on-site deployment time by up to 85% compared to traditional methods.
Besides automated manufacturing processes, the Johor plant features dedicated flushing and validation environments for liquid cooling systems, as well as testing facilities capable of validating liquid cooling and integrated power solutions under real-world operating conditions before deployment.
The facility operates under Vertiv’s global quality management standards and in compliance with ISO standards, reinforcing commitment to manufacturing excellence, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

Vertiv Asia’ s Vice President and General Manager Paul Churchill, said “The Johor facility is designed to enhance how we support customers across Asia, through closer regional collaboration and more responsive execution for complex infrastructure deployments.”
He added, “As customers scale increasingly sophisticated AI and high-density environments, proximity, responsiveness, and execution capabilities become increasingly important. Johor’s regional connectivity, expanding technology ecosystem, and skilled local talent pool
contribute to its suitability as a location. This facility strengthens our ability to help our customers navigate
evolving infrastructure requirements across the region.”
