The all-new electric Mercedes-Benz CLA is finally coming to Malaysia, and the public can get an early preview of the EV sedan next week.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has confirmed that the Mercedes-Benz CLA with EQ Technology will be showcased locally and you can secure your slot to get an early look.
The new CLA marks the first Mercedes-Benz EV built on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), featuring an 800V electrical system and a claimed WLTP range close to 800km on a single charge.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA preview is happening at Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar (NZ Wheels Bangsar) from 15th to 18th January 2026, between 10:00am to 7:00pm.
Visitors are urged to RSVP to secure priority access for seamless entry by booking a 90 minute slot on their official RSVP page. The slots are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA with EQ Technology was first unveiled in March 2025 and the all-electric offering was initially announced with two variants – CLA 250+ RWD and CLA 350 4MATIC AWD.
This compact electric sedan boasts an low drag coefficient of 0.21Cd, a 2-speed gearbox and a large 85kWh NMC battery. Combined, the new CLA EV delivers an impressive WLTP-rated range of up to 792km for the CLA 250+ RWD and up to 771km for the CLA 350 4MATIC AWD.

The single-motor 250+ pushes 200kW (268hp) and 335Nm of torque, along with a 0-100km/h time of 6.7 seconds. Meanwhile, the dual-motor 350 4MATIC boasts 260kW (348hp) and 515Nm of torque, and a quicker century sprint of 4.9 seconds. Both versions have a top speed of 210km/h.
In terms of charging, it supports DC fast charging up to 320kW where it can get from 10-80% charge in 22 minutes. For AC charging, it is offered with either 11kW or 22kW three-phase onboard charger.
A few months ago, Mercedes-Benz introduced a more affordable “base spec” CLA 200 variant in Europe featuring a 58kWh LFP battery that offers 541km of WLTP-rated range and a less powerful 165kW (224hp) rear motor that delivers a 0-100km time of 7.5 seconds.

Design wise, the new CLA stands out for having a fully illuminated star panel on the front which features 142 individual animated LED chrome-effect stars.
The new all-electric CLA is also the first Mercedes-Benz EV to feature a frunk with a decent capacity of 101L.

Similar to what we’ve seen on the Smart #5, the new CLA EV is offered with 3 screens consisting of a 10.25″ driver instrument cluster, a 14″ central infotainment system running on MB.OS and an extra 14″ display for the front passenger. There’s also a head-up display for the driver.

While the all-new electric CLA uses an 800V system, the first batch of EVs are not compatible with 400V based DC chargers due to the lack of a DC-to-DC converter. This can be a potential issue for road trips if a DC charger doesn’t support 800V.
The good news is that Mercedes Benz reportedly will include the DC-to-DC converter for new deliveries starting Spring 2026 which would allow the EV to charge at both 800V and 400V EV charging stations. Hopefully this will be applicable as well for our market when the CLA launches in Malaysia.
