Grab Malaysia has expanded its Grab EV service at KLIA Terminal 1 by adding Leapmotor C10 into the mix. Prior to this, the service only utilised BYD M6.
We caught wind of the new development after we received a photo from an anonymous source that showed a C10 with Grab EV decals on its doors at a Mastercard-branded Gentari DC charger. Given the palm trees in the background and the charger itself, we believe this image was captured at Petronas KLIA1.
True enough, there is now a new Grab EV option featuring the C10 when we checked the Grab app.

Interestingly, the electric SUV is not under the same category as the BYD M6, which is currently available as a Standard 6-seater option. Instead, Grab listed the Leapmotor’s electric SUV as a Premium 4-seater option.
The description inside the Grab app further noted that the C10 seats 4 passengers with 2 check-in luggage. This option includes Ride Cover, which offers Personal Accident Insurance during the ride as well as a ride voucher for delayed pickup, although these perks are not available for customers who already have Ride Cover Plus.
Grab EV costs slightly more than the normal Grab airport ride

In case you missed our previous report, the Grab EV option costs more than its petrol counterpart. As per our quick check for a trip from KLIA to our office at Bukit Bintang, there appears to be a difference of RM3.80 between Grab EV’s Leapmotor C10 and the non-EV 4-seater Premium option.
However, that difference is not as big as between BYD M6 and a Standard 6-seat option. As you can see in the screenshot above, the difference is RM17.

Currently, it is unclear whether the inclusion of the Leapmotor C10 in the Grab EV service was achieved through an official collaboration between Stellantis Malaysia and Grab Malaysia. This is because we are not aware of any official announcement from either company regarding it so far.
Nevertheless, it is interesting to see that Grab EV now have a new option featuring a Leapmotor EV. This is given the close partnership that the ride-hailing company has with BYD, which resulted not only in the establishment of the Grab EV service in Malaysia but also in up to RM25,000 rebates for Grab drivers who want to switch from their current vehicle to a BYD EV.
