Xiaomi has revealed more details of the YU7 EV ahead of its official launch that’s set to take place in July 2025. The Xiaomi YU7 is a fully electric SUV and it’s the brand’s second EV model following its successful debut of the SU7 sedan last year.
The Xiaomi electric SUV appears to have its sights on high-performance contenders like the Ferrari Purosangue as the range topping model has a claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 3.23 seconds.
The Xiaomi YU7 is built on the same Modena platform as the SU7. It measures 4999mm long, 1,996 wide, 1608mm tall and has a wheelbase of 3000mm. It comes in 3 variants – YU7, YU7 Pro and YU7 Max.
The Xiaomi YU7 Max is currently the range-topping model with a dual-motor setup pushing 508kW (681hp) and 866Nm of torque. It can do 0-100km/h in 3.23 seconds, up to a top-speed of 253km/h. Meanwhile, the mid-spec YU7 Pro also gets a dual-motor setup that pushes a lower 396kW (531hp) and 690Nm of torque. It can do the century sprint in 4.27 seconds, up to a top speed of 240km/h.
The “base” Xiaomi YU7 gets a single motor driving the rear wheels that delivers 235kW (315hp) and 528Nm. It can do 0-100km/h in 5.88 seconds, up to a top-speed of 240km/h.
The Xiaomi YU7 and YU7 Pro comes with a 96.3kWh battery that offers up to 835km and 770km of CLTC-rated range respectively. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi YU7 Max gets a larger 101.7kWh battery that provides up to 760km of CLTC-rated range.
All 3 YU7 variants are using an 800V architecture and a 15-minute charge can provide up to 620km of range, and 10-80% charge takes as little as 12 minutes with a rapid DC charger.
The interior is different from the SU7 as the fully electric SUV boasts a 1.1m wide “HyperVision” display which comprises of 3 Mini-LED screens. The cockpit uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 while its intelligent driving systems are powered by Nvidia Drive AGX Thor.
For greater comfort for all passengers, the front seat gets “zero gravity” seats with an extended ottoman, while the rear also gets a power reclined seats along with a 6.68″ touch screen for climate and entertainment controls.
Despite its fluid design and multiple air curtains, the Xiaomi YU7 has a drag coefficient rating of 0.245Cd, which is higher than the likes of the Tesla Model Y.
Further details including pricing are expected to be revealed during the July launch event.
Xiaomi has already delivered 258,000 SU7 EVs since its introduction. In April alone, Xiaomi has delivered over than 28,000 units.
