Just days after its global launch, the Nothing Phone (2) is now in Malaysia. The London-based company is stepping it up a notch with their latest smartphone, giving it a number of upgrades over the original Phone (1), such as a larger display, a more powerful processor and a refreshed take on the Glyph interface.
Nothing Phone (2) Malaysia pricing and availability
The Nothing Phone (2) will be available with either 256GB of storage or 512GB of storage; Malaysia will not be getting the 128GB base model. However, it still manages to squeeze just under the RM3,000 mark that many expected it to go over. Here’s how much the Nothing Phone (2) costs in Malaysia:

You’ll also be able to get some additional accessories from Nothing, such as a case priced at RM89, a screen protector for RM69, and USB-C cables starting at RM69.
As confirmed by Nothing Malaysia before this, the Phone (2) will be going on sale on the 15th of July onwards at Crossover Mid Valley, with sales starting at 10am. Wider availability of the Phone (2) meanwhile will start on 22nd July onwards on the official Nothing store on Lazada and Shopee as well as their partners such as Yes 5G, DirectD, TMT, Urban Republic, Tac Mobile and Vivid Concepts.

At first glance, the Nothing Phone (2) certainly might not look too different compared to its predecessor, but hold it up against the Phone (1) and it’s clear that the new device is larger. It now features a 6.7-inch, FHD+ OLED display with an LTPO backplane, allowing for a 1 to 120Hz refresh rate. It offers a peak brightness of 1,600nits, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and support for HDR10+, with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass over it for scratch resistance.
On the back meanwhile is of course the signature Glyph interface. The new look illuminating LEDs on the back is said to offer more granularity than before with more LED zones compared to the Phone (1). There’s also a new Glyph composer for you to customise you own ringtones to match the lighting on the back. You can even use the LEDs as a way to tell you how close your food is when you order off Uber Eats; seeing as we don’t have Uber here though it’s not sure how that’ll work here. The glass back is also now slightly curved for a 3D feel. There’s an IP54 rating too which isn’t much but is better than nothing.
Under the hood, you’ll find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, mated to up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It comes with Android 13 out of the box, skinned with their monochromatic Nothing OS 2.0, though you can also prefer the more vibrant and colourful stock Android look if you prefer. The Nothing OS 2.0 skin offers the home screen layout in a symmetrical grid along with its own widgets such as a pedometer and screen time counter. Nothing is guaranteeing at least three years of Android upgrades, along with four years of security patches that will come every two months.
In the camera department meanwhile, the Nothing Phone (2) features an upgraded main camera, with the 50MP, f/1.88 shooter now using the Sony IMX890 sensor with a 1/1.56″ sensor size. This gets flanked by a 50MP, f/2.2 ultrawide using the Samsung JN1 sensor, while up front you get a new 32MP, f/2.45 front facing camera for your selfies. The Phone (2) is now capable of 4K video recording at 60fps, with Live HDR at 4K30fps also possible.
Other features of note include a larger 4,700mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 15W wireless charging along with 5W reverse wireless charging. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers and support for WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and 5G wireless connectivity. Available in black or white, the Nothing Phone (2) measures 8.55mm thick and is 201g heavy.
