Besides the Nothing Phone (2), the new Ear (2) in Black is also going on sale in Malaysia on 15th July 2023. As revealed by Nothing on its website, it is making a limited drop for two of its new products in Kuala Lumpur next week.
If you’re interested, you can buy the Nothing Ear (2) in black as well as the new Nothing Phone (2) at Crossover in Mid Valley at 11:00am on Saturday, 15th July. The black Nothing Ear (2) was just announced a few days ago and it also retails for RM599 in Malaysia just like the white version. After this drop, the Ear (2) black will be available across all of Nothing’s partner stores in Malaysia for both online and offline from 20th July onward.
To recap, the Nothing Ear (2) is the brand’s second active noise-cancellation wireless earbuds and it still features a semi-transparent design like its predecessor. The case has been redesigned with a more upmarket look. Both the buds and the case are also slightly lighter than before weighing at 4.5g and 51.9g respectively. Its water resistance rating has been improved slightly from IPX4 on the Ear (1) to IP55 on the Ear (2).
Other major improvements include audio quality and clarity as the Nothing Ear (2) now boasts Hi-Res Audio certification with support for Low Latency High Definition Audio Codec (LHDC 5.0). In terms of noise cancellation, the Ear (2) now goes up to 40dB and it also claims to offer improved Clear Noise Technology for voice calls with repositioned mics for better wind noise resistance.
The Ear (2) buds also claim to offer longer battery life with up to 6.3 hours of playback without ANC or 4 hours with ANC on. With the charging case, you can get up to 36 hours of playback cumulatively with ANC off or 22.5 hours with ANC enabled. The charging case supports wired USB-C charging as well as 2.5W Qi Wireless charging. According to Nothing, the Ear (2) can get up to 8 hours of music playback with just a quick 10-minute charge on the cable.
