The Sony Xperia 1 V is now officially available for purchase in Malaysia and they are offering an early bird bundle which includes a pair of wireless noise-cancelling headphones. Announced a few months ago, this is Sony’s latest flagship Android smartphone which runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a new triple-camera array that features Sony’s Exmor T image sensor.
Sony Xperia 1 V Malaysia Price and Bundle
As revealed previously, the Sony Xperia 1 V with 256GB storage is officially priced at RM6,399 in Malaysia. As part of its early bird bundle which is available until 31st July 2023 and while stocks last, buyers can get a Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones worth RM1,799 plus a premium clear casing and tempered glass screen protector.

Sony Xperia 1 V Specs and Features
To recap, the Xperia 1 V retails its iconic boxy shape and a 6.5″ 4K HDR OLED (3840×1644) 21:9 screen. It boasts a 120Hz screen refresh rate and a 240Hz touch scanning rate along with Sony’s Bravia HDR’s X1 mobile engine. Under the hood, it gets a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage which you can still expand further up to 1TB extra via a microSD card.
For taking pictures, it gets a triple-camera setup that consists of a 52MP f/1.9 (48MP effective) main camera with Exmor T 1/1.35″ image sensor, 12MP telephoto camera with a “true optical zoom” range of 85mm – 125mm and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The Xperia 1 V can support 4K HDR video up to 120fps and it also gets Optical SteadyShot with Flawless Eye. The device also gets a 12MP selfie camera on the front that’s capable of shooting 4K 60fps.
Besides IP68-rated dust and water resistance, the Xperia 1 V still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. For ease of changing SIMs especially while travelling, it also comes with tool-free access to the nano-SIM card slot. Also included is support for 5G, 6Ghz 802.11ax WiFi 6E capability, stereo speakers, 360 Reality Audio and Qi Wireless charging.
Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery that supports USB PD fast charging via its USB 3.2 Type-C port. Out of the box, it runs on Android 13.
For RM6,399 with a free pair of headphones, the Xperia 1 V is currently one of the most expensive flagships on sale at the moment. As a comparison, the previous Xperia 1 IV was priced at RM6,099 while the Xperia 1 III was going for RM5,799.
The Xperia 1 V also faces stiff competition from other brands such as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which has a one-inch main sensor and 512GB storage for RM5,199. Meanwhile, Samsung has been offering generous discounts of up to RM1,500 for its Galaxy S23 Ultra and Apple resellers are constantly offering discounted deals of up to RM800 for the current iPhone 14 series.
