Samsung Malaysia has announced that its Odyssey OLED G9 is coming to Malaysia and it’s the brand’s largest gaming monitor yet with a curved 49″ screen. If you register your interest, Samsung says you can get RM300 eVouchers and savings of up to RM2,000.

The official pricing for the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 in Malaysia isn’t revealed yet but you can be the first to know by registering your interest online between 26th June to 9th July 2023. As a comparison, the monitor is priced at SGD 3,399 in Singapore which is about RM11,740.

According to the terms and conditions, those who register their interest during the period will receive a unique code to redeem a pre-register eVoucher worth RM300 to “early-order” the OLED G9 monitor. The Pre-register eVoucher is offered on a first come first served basis nationwide and it is while stocks last. So far there are no details yet on the supposed savings of up to RM2,000.

The Odyssey OLED G9 is described as the world’s first DQHD OLED monitor which boats AI upscaling and 0.03ms response time (GtG) for better visual experience for gaming. Introduced during CES 2023, the Odyssey OLED G9 sits above the previous Odyssey OLED G8 which was priced at RM7,599 in Malaysia.

The OLED gaming monitor has a curved 49″ 1800R display that pushes a 32:9 aspect ratio. This results in a “dual” Quad HD resolution of 5120×1440 pixels which is like having two monitors side by side but without any physical gaps in between. It has a rated brightness of 250 cd/㎡ and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The screen also boasts a screen refresh rate of 240Hz and DisplayHDR True Black 400 which boasts true black and dark colours on screen without pixel light bleed.

When you’re not gaming, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 also functions as a Smart TV which allows you to stream video content standalone via WiFi. Also supported is Wireless Dex for wireless screen projection from compatible Samsung devices. For more gamer aesthetics, it comes with CoreSync technology which projects matching colours of your on-screen game at the back of the monitor.
