After posting a teaser earlier this month, Yoodo has finally enabled 5G for its users. They are currently the first MVNO in Malaysia to officially offer 5G, beating the likes of bigger telcos such as Maxis.
How to activate 5G on Yoodo
To enjoy 5G on your Yoodo number, you must first have a 5G-enabled device, be within Digital Nasional Berhad’s 5G coverage areas and have a 5G-enabled data plan. On Yoodo, you must obtain a 5G Trial Pass which is given for free if you subscribe to a Yoodo plan with at least 10GB of high-speed data. You can choose to enable the pass on your next plan renewal or have the change reflected now (the current plan will be forfeited).
At the moment, Yoodo’s 10GB data plan costs RM18 while the 20GB data plan costs just RM20 under its current promo. According to the T&C, the free 5G data trial pass is offered starting today 15th February 2023 until further notice. At the moment, it is only offered for compatible 5G-supported Android devices, so it isn’t ready for the iPhone just yet. Yoodo users will be able to enjoy 5G roaming services via the Roam Like Home Pass but it is subject to the list of roaming partner telcos.
You can learn more from Yoodo’s 5G page.
