Celcom has announced its ‘Pasang Terus’ campaign in Sabah, which offers Celcom Home Fibre broadband connectivity with same-day installation. This will enable Sabahans in selected areas to get their fibre broadband connection installed without having to wait for an appointment.

In case you didn’t know, Celcom has its own fibre infrastructure in Sabah via Celcom Timur Sdn Bhd (CTSB) and they offer speeds of up to 1Gbps. Celcom is also deploying its Bluecube trucks around housing areas to make it easier for residents to sign up for Celcom Home Fibre and convergence plans together with same-day fibre installation.

The Celcom Fibre and postpaid bundling are slightly different in Sabah. Instead of pairing the fibre broadband plan with Celcom Postpaid under Celcom Max, Sabah customers are offered the Celcom Home Fibre and Xpax postpaid combo with same-day installation from RM119/month. The folks at Lowyat have discovered the link which reveals the Sabah-only promo, and there are a total of 6 options in total.

The base 20Mbps fibre combo costs RM119/month, while 30Mbps fibre combo costs RM140/month along with free 2 months rebate. Moving up a notch, the 100Mbps combo costs RM180/month and Celcom is offering a free double speed upgrade to 200Mbps.

If you need faster speeds, 300Mbps costs RM200/month, 500Mbps costs RM260/month and its highest 1Gbps options costs RM289/month. Celcom offers free 3 months rebate for the 300Mbps plans and above. All plans come with free WiFi 6 AX Router and installation. The Mesh WiFi is offered for free to 500Mbps and 1Gbps customers, but you can rent it for RM25 per month per unit.

The Xpax Postpaid 60 is a refreshed postpaid plan that offers 20GB of high-speed data, “unlimited” data for YouTube, Facebook and Instagram speed-capped at 6Mbps and unlimited calls to all networks. The plan costs RM60/month and you can learn more about it here.

According to the FAQ, the promo is only applicable to customers residing within CTSB fibre infrastructure areas. Do note that the same-day ‘Pasang Terus’ installation offer is only available for a limited time during weekends according to schedule. Here’s the schedule for the ‘Pasang Terus’ campaign which covers Penampang, Tenom, Tuaran, Kolombong, Beaufort, Kota Kinabalu, Kudat, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Felda Sahabat and Sandakan:

To learn more, you can visit the ‘Sabah’ version of the Celcom Fibre Broadband page.

Celcom has recently reiterated its commitment to improving mobile connectivity in Sabah and it aims to increase 4G LTE population coverage in the state to 85% by the end of this year. For East Malaysia, it has allocated a budget of RM200 million for network improvements which include deploying 1,145 new 4G LTE sites, upgrading 745 2G sites to 4G and upgrading network capacity at 874 existing 4G LTE sites for major cities and rural areas in both Sabah and Sarawak.
