LG NanoCell TV: This is the future of home entertainment

This post is brought to you by LG.

When you’re looking for a new TV, there are lots of things you need to consider, but I’d say that three of the biggest aspects are image quality, the size of the display, and responsiveness.

These are all things that the LG NanoCell TV excels at. Being part of LG’s huge NanoCell TV collection, the NanoCell TV strikes a nice balance of being premium while still being approachable.

But what exactly is NanoCell technology?

LG explains NanoCell technology as particles absorbing “unwanted light wavelengths to enhance the purity of red and green colours displayed on the screen”.

To put it simply, the colours are getting filtered so you only get an extremely pure output, making it of much higher quality with pure colours compared to regular LCD 4K displays.

Producing pure, vibrant pictures that will bring your content to life

LG uses NanoCell technology to produce a display with 100% colour consistency, certified by Intertek. Colour consistency consists of both the colour and lightness of the display. Intertek tested the NanoCell TV across 18 different colour patterns with a viewing angle of ±30°, meaning you will get a rich and accurate experience.

In addition, LG’s NanoCell TV includes Local Dimming . Note that this only applies to the 55”/65”/75” NANO86 and 86NANO75. This technology allows the display to dim the backlight where dark sections of an image appear. This results in deeper blacks and greater depth in dark scenes. LG’s NanoCell TV has a lot of dimming zones, minimising the backlight bleeding and halo effect you would get with a conventional TV.

Those who know about OLED technology know that getting a deep black image can be quite expensive, but Local Dimming can achieve similar results without the hefty price tag.

A massive screen for insane immersion

The LG NanoCell TV comes in 55”, 65”, 75”, and 86” size options to fit the needs of your home. The 86-inch TV is designed to provide you with a fully immersive experience. Everything that makes the NanoCell TV great is enhanced with the ultra large screen.

If you want even more detail, LG also offers higher-end models that offer an Real 8K display. This way, you can notice more detail than ever before.

The LG NanoCell TV has very thin bezels and is also quite slim, making it look sleek when mounted to the wall.

If you’re unsure of which size screen is right for you, you can enter the dimensions of your room on the LG TV Simulator to see how it would fit in your home. Alternatively, you can use the LG TV AR app to see the TV in your room with augmented reality.

Bringing cinema, gaming, and sports to life with a responsive display

The LG NanoCell TV is HDMI 2.1** compatible , making it the perfect choice if you’re an avid console gamer. This new HDMI protocol makes the TV future-proof for any console that might push 4K content at a 120Hz refresh rate.

Speaking of refresh rates, this TV features AMD FreeSync™ Premium** technology. This allows for smooth playback without any tearing or stuttering.

Powering the TV is the α7 Gen 4 AI Processor** which uses deep-learning algorithms to analyse the content and optimise it. For example, if you’re watching sports, the TV would figure that out and adjust the settings accordingly.

It also uses AI to control the brightness and tone mapping of the display based on ambient lighting conditions.

When it comes to sound, the NanoCell TVs support Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos**. This provides a cinematic experience, especially on Netflix, with a lot of movie titles supporting Dolby technology.

Dolby Vision IQ intelligently adjusts picture settings based on content genre and ambient surroundings.

** Only applies to NANO86

LG is also introducing a feature called Sports Alert, which notifies you before, during and after games. To set it up, just speak into your LG Magic Remote and say “Sports Alert”. It will then ask you to select the sports leagues and teams you are interested in. After setting it up, you will receive notifications on your TV about the games and even get scoring alerts when you’re watching other content.

You can learn more about the NanoCell TV by checking out LG’s website, as well as their Facebook and Instagram pages. You can also check their official Lazada and Shopee stores.

LG is also holding a Year End Promotion called ‘LG Trio Bonanza Sale-brations’. The first tier is ‘Cash Rebate’, where you can buy selected LG products to get up to RM1,000 Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet credits . The second one is ‘Mix & Match’, where customers can buy at least two LG products from different categories to double the TNG eWallet credits . The last tier is ‘Lucky Win’ where customers can stand a chance to win RM1,000 of TNG eWallet credits .

In addition, LG is offering a Purchase for Purchase rebate when you buy any LG PuriCare™ products + selected LG products to get RM100 of TNG eWallet credits. This promotion starts on 15 November and ends on 31 December 2021.
