Huawei has officially announced the FreeBuds Lipstick for the local market and you can pre-order one locally starting today. These are their new hard-tip wireless earbuds that come in a unique lipstick-looking case.

Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick Malaysia Pricing and Availability

The Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick is officially priced at RM999 in Malaysia, making it their most expensive earbuds at the moment. As a comparison, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro is priced at RM699.

If you’re interested, you can pre-order the FreeBuds Lipstick starting today, 20th November until 3rd December 2021. It’s available on the Huawei online store, Lazada and Shopee.

Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick Specs

Looking at the specs, the earbuds of the FreeBuds Lipstick appear to be identical to the FreeBuds 4. It has an Airpods-looking earbud design in red and features a 14.3mm sound driver on each side. It also supports touch and swipe controls to manage your music playback and calls.

Interestingly, it has active noise cancellation (ANC) but you might want to lower your expectations as the hard-tip design doesn’t offer a good seal. The “Open-Fit” design might appeal to some users that prefer comfort over sound isolation.

The biggest disappointment is probably the battery life. For a pair of wireless earbuds that cost RM999, it can only last up to 2.5 hours of music playback with ANC on or up to 4 hours with ANC disabled. As a comparison, the more capable Huawei FreeBuds Pro offers 4.5 hours with ANC enabled while the Sony WF-1000XM4 can last up to 8 hours with ANC turned on.

With the lipstick case, you can get up to a total of 14 hours of playback with ANC or up to 22 hours with ANC turned off. The FreeBuds Lipstick charges via USB-C but it doesn’t support wireless charging. It supports Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and can connect to two devices simultaneously.
