MyEG aims to curb coronavirus spread with AI-powered profiling system

MyEG, the eGovernment solutions provider has announced a coronavirus risk-profiling system that can reduce the spread of COVID-19 infections from incoming visitors into the country. It is a fully-automated system that uses artificial intelligence and the company is offering the solution to the governments of Malaysia and the Philippines.

According to MyEG, their solution creates a health-risk profile using a person’s historical geolocation and anomaly tracking. It analyses a vast number of available data points including visitors’ previous known whereabouts, as well as heart rate and blood pressure readings crossed-reference against public transportation ridership and exposure to locations with infection incidents. The system will provide ongoing engagement with the visitor within the country and it can alert health authorities of any anomalies so that they can take necessary measures which could include evacuation or quarantine of affected persons.

It is reported that MyEG has partnered with Phoenix Travel Worldwide, a China-based travel agency which has multiple shareholders such as China state-owned Citic Capital, Haier and Legend Holdings, which owns Lenovo.

With COVID-19 being declared a global health emergency, MyEG believes there’s a need for a smart health profiling and tracking system that is capable of handling large volumes of inbound Chinese travellers. The solution would be crucial for governments worldwide especially popular destinations for Chinese tourists.

MyEG also added that travel restrictions on visitors from specific cities like Wuhan and Wenzhou can be tricker and inaccurate if government solely depend on passport information. Using historical geolocation data with additional parameters will provide a more detailed assessment of the health risk for individual visitors. It also added that the data analytics algorithm will constantly evolve as they learn more about the virus each passing day.
