The RM30 digital stimulus initiative which is also known as eTunai Rakyat will commence starting 15th January 2020. Eligible Malaysians can claim their RM30 incentive via Boost, Grab and Touch ‘n Go eWallet for a period of two months. If you’ve claimed the RM30, you must utilise it within the program period as it comes with an expiry date.

According to Touch ‘n Go‘s FAQ, it states that the eTunai Rakyat incentive can only be used until the 14th of March 2020. Any eTunai Rakyat balance left after 14th of March 2020 will expire and cannot be used again.

On Grab‘s FAQ, it says that the RM30 credit comes with an expiry date and it must be utilised by 15th March 2020. After the expiry, the remaining balance will be transferred out from your GrabPay Wallet.

The initiative by the government is aimed at promoting the use of eWallets among Malaysians and you can use it for any products and services via the eWallet application. If you’re using Grab, it can be used to pay for rides, food, deliveries or in-store purchases, and you are still eligible to earn GrabRewards Points.

Do note that the RM30 incentive is non-transferrable and it can only be utilised on the same eWallet. Eligible Malaysians can only redeem the RM30 once regardless of how many eWallets you have.

The eTunai Rakyat program is offered to Malaysians aged 18 years and above that has an annual income of less than RM100,000. If you haven’t already, you must verify your eWallet account with your IC before you can redeem the money. For more info, you can check out our previous post here.
