CelcomDigi has signed a 15-year agreement with Kulim Technology Park Corporation (KTPC) to deploy and manage fibre infrastructure across Industrial Zone Phase 4A (IZP 4A) at Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP).
Under the partnership, CelcomDigi will manage the fibre duct infrastructure at IZP 4A and provide incoming industrial tenants with enterprise connectivity solutions. These include Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Private Leased Lines (PLL), IPVPN, Managed Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), and managed fibre services designed to support automated and data-intensive manufacturing operations.
Established in 1996 as a dedicated manufacturing center, KHTP has steadily expanded its footprint in advanced technology sectors.
Park management reported RM189.4 billion in cumulative investment and an active workforce of 48,813 as of the second quarter of 2026, positioning the new IZP 4A development as the next stage in absorbing sustained industrial demand.
The collaboration also aligns with the broader development ambitions of the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER), which covers Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak.
Dato’ Mohd Sahil Zabidi, Group Chief Executive Officer of KTPC said, “The continued development of KHTP is about more than expanding industrial capacity; it is about creating the right environment for businesses to grow, investment to flourish and opportunities to reach the wider community. Our partnership with CelcomDigi will help ensure that IZP 4A is equipped with the fibre infrastructure needed by incoming manufacturers, supporting their operational needs as well as the park’s long-term development. We hope this progress will contribute to Kedah’s economic growth, create wider opportunities for local talent and businesses and strengthen the Northern Corridor’s contribution to Malaysia’s industrial future.”
Meanwhile, T Kugan, Chief Business Enterprise Officer of CelcomDigi, said, “Digital connectivity is a key enabler of Malaysia’s economic progress, helping businesses become more competitive and industries to evolve. We see our role as going beyond providing connectivity to supporting the digital foundations that businesses and industries need to grow. Our partnership with KTPC reflects this commitment, bringing our fibre infrastructure and enterprise capabilities to KHTP Phase 4A to support Kedah’s industrial ambitions and the Northern Corridor’s continued development. Ultimately, we want to help create an environment where businesses can thrive, investment can grow and the benefits of digitalisation can contribute to progress for Malaysia and its people.”
