MediaTek has showcased its latest Dimensity 9600 series of flagship mobile processors in Malaysia, highlighting improvements in performance, gaming, imaging and on-device AI.
During its Tech Day event themed “The Next Leap” in Kuala Lumpur, MediaTek highlighted the Dimensity 9600 Pro and Dimensity 9600M, which will power upcoming flagship smartphones from Vivo and Oppo.
Both brands are set to introduce their Dimensity 9600 series powered flagship smartphones in Malaysia later this month.
MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro specs and features

The Dimensity 9600 Pro is built on an advanced 2nm process and features MediaTek’s Native AI Architecture, which integrates AI capabilities across the CPU, GPU and image signal processor (ISP).
For processing power, the Dimensity 9600 Pro features a 2+3+3 All Big Core CPU configuration which consists of two C2-Ultra cores clocked at up to 4.55GHz, three C2-Pro cores at 4.35GHz and another three C2-Pro cores at 3.1GHz.
According to MediaTek, the new chipset delivers up to 17% higher single-core performance and 15% higher multi-core performance compared to its predecessor. The company also claims a 61% reduction in multi-core power consumption.
For graphics, the Dimensity 9600 Pro features a G2-Ultra NX GPU, which promises up to 27% higher peak performance, 24% lower power consumption and 18% faster ray tracing. MediaTek says the chipset supports gaming at up to 185fps.
On the imaging front, the chip features an Imagiq 1290 ISP with AI Imaging Fusion Architecture, which supports advanced computational photography and video content creation.
MediaTek focuses on on-device and agentic AI
Besides raw performance, MediaTek is putting greater emphasis on on-device AI with its dual-NPU architecture and Dimensity Agentic AI Engine.
The company says its agentic AI capabilities are designed to make smartphones more proactive, rather than simply responding to user commands.
Powered by the NPU 1090, the Dimensity 9600 Pro claims 51% faster AI prefill performance and supports Google’s on-device AISeal security architecture.
By processing AI workloads directly on the device, MediaTek aims to deliver faster responses while improving privacy.

Besides the Dimensity 9600 Pro, MediaTek also showcased the Dimensity 9600M, which brings technologies from its flagship platform to premium smartphones.
Built on a 3nm process, the Dimensity 9600M focuses on AI, imaging, gaming, performance and connectivity.
Mediatek’s Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications for India and SEA, Anuj Sidharth, said, “With the launch of the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, we are bringing the next generation of flagship technology to Malaysia. Built on an advanced 2nm process with our Native AI Architecture, the chipset brings together agentic AI, gaming and imaging capabilities with improved power efficiency, giving our smartphone partners a powerful platform to create new experiences for Malaysian consumers. “
“As AI continues to become more deeply integrated into the smartphone experience, the Dimensity 9600 Pro is designed to give our partners the performance, intelligence and efficiency they need to build what comes next,” he added.
