Vivo has officially launched its latest X500 flagship smartphone series in China, consisting of the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max.
Imaging remains the main focus of the X-series, and the new generation brings significant upgrades for both photography and video. At the top of the range, the vivo X500 Pro Max gets a 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera, while the Pro models support features such as 4K 240fps slow-motion video, 17 EV TrueDynamic Log Video and 8K Native Live.
The Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are also powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600 Pro flagship chip, which is built on a 2nm process.
These Vivo flagship smartphones are expected to arrive in Malaysia sometime next month.
Vivo X500 Pro Max specs and features
The Vivo X500 Pro Max is the range topping model in the new flagship series. It features a 6.85-inch AMOLED ZEISS Master Color Display with a 3168 x 1440 resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 1-144Hz.
Under the hood is 2nm MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro. It is mated to either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The headline feature is its triple-camera ZEISS setup. At the rear, you get a 50MP ZEISS TrueDynamic main camera, a 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera and a 50MP ZEISS ultrawide camera.
The main camera uses the vivo x Sony LYTIA L910 sensor and gets 3-degree gimbal-grade OIS, while both the main and telephoto cameras support OIS.
The telephoto camera offers 3.5x optical zoom and can also be paired with Vivo’s optional ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, which provides a 400mm-equivalent focal length.
For selfies, it gets a 50MP f/2.0 front camera.
Vivo is putting more emphasis on video with this generation. The X500 Pro series supports 4K 240fps Cinematic Slow-Mo Video, 17 EV TrueDynamic Log Video with 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding, 4K 120fps 10-bit Log output and 4K Cinematic Portrait Video. It also supports 8K Native Live.
Powering the vivo X500 Pro Max is an 8,000mAh battery which supports up to 90W fast wired and 40W wireless charging.
The X500 Pro Max runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.
Vivo X500 Pro specs and features
The vivo X500 Pro takes a more compact approach with a 6.36-inch AMOLED ZEISS Master Color Display. It has a resolution of 2660 x 1216 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 1-144Hz.
Like the Pro Max, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro. It is paired to 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
For photography, the X500 Pro gets a 50MP ZEISS TrueDynamic main camera, a 64MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera and a 50MP ZEISS ultrawide camera. The main and telephoto cameras both support OIS, while the telephoto camera offers 3.5x optical zoom. Over at the front, it gets a 50MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
It shares many of the X500 Pro Max’s video features, including 17 EV TrueDynamic Log Video, 4K 240fps Cinematic Slow-Mo Video, 4K Cinematic Portrait Video and 8K Native Live.
The Vivo X500 Pro gets a 6,510mAh battery, and it supports up to 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.

The standard vivo X500 gets a 6.59-inch AMOLED ZEISS Master Color Display with a resolution of 2750 x 1260 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz.
Unlike its Pro siblings, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M, which is built on a 3nm process. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
At the rear, the vivo X500 gets a 50MP ZEISS main camera, a 64MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera and a 50MP ZEISS ultrawide camera. It also retains a 50MP f/2.0 selfie shooter.
Its main camera uses the same 1/1.28-inch vivo x Sony LYTIA 828 sensor found on the previous X300 Pro and comes with ZEISS Gimbal-Grade OIS. The 64MP telephoto camera uses the Sony LYTIA 610 sensor, supports OIS and offers 3.1x optical zoom.
Despite being the base model, Vivo has retained several of the series’ more advanced video features. It can record 4K 120fps slow-motion, 4K 60fps Cinematic Portrait Video, 4K 120fps 10-bit Log and 8K Native Live.
The standard model can also be paired with the Vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2, offering a 200mm-equivalent focal length.
Powering the vivo X500 is a 7,500mAh battery, with a rated capacity of 7,270mAh. It supports up to 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.
