Apple has officially introduced the HomeView, its new AI-powered smart home display designed for entertainment, video calls and controlling connected smart devices around the house.

Powered by Apple’s A18 chip and Apple Intelligence, the HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, a 12MP Center Stage camera for FaceTime and built-in speakers with Spatial Audio support.

Unlike an iPad, the HomeView is designed as a shared household device that can recognise up to six people and automatically switch to their personalised Home Screen, apps and widgets.

It comes in two versions: a tabletop model with a speaker base and a slimmer wall-mounted model.

Apple HomeView specs and features

The Apple HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 1088 x 1088 pixels and 220ppi. The IPS touchscreen supports True Tone, while its brightness automatically adjusts between 0.3 and 500 nits depending on the surrounding environment.

Interestingly, the interface also adapts to your distance from the display. It shows simpler information when viewed from across the room and more details as you move closer.

Under the hood, the HomeView runs on Apple’s A18 chip which is the same chip powering the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Being a smart hub, it also supports the new Siri AI, which offers more natural conversations, broader world knowledge and onscreen awareness.

When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri AI can access personal context from supported apps such as Messages, Calendar and Apple Music to provide more personalised responses and carry out actions across apps.

For FaceTime, there’s a 12MP Center Stage camera and also a four-microphone array with far-field Siri voice recognition.

For entertainment, users can stream music through Apple Music, watch videos on Apple TV and access compatible third-party audio and video apps. It also supports Handoff, allowing users to transfer music playback from their iPhone to the HomeView, as well as multiroom audio through AirPlay.

Besides entertainment, the HomeView comes with apps such as Messages, Calendar, Reminders, Find My, Safari and Weather. Users can also display family photos, access shared albums and customise their screen with different watch faces, including an animated Snoopy face.

In the kitchen, the HomeView can turn online recipes into step-by-step instructions, while Siri can help set timers and keep track of ingredients.

Apple HomeView as a smart home hub

As a smart home hub, the HomeView provides a central dashboard to control compatible lights, thermostats, smart locks, blinds and cameras using touch or Siri AI.

It supports Apple Home and Matter accessories, while its Home Camera interface can display live feeds from up to nine security cameras simultaneously.

With a supported iCloud+ subscription and compatible cameras, the HomeView can also recognise people, pets, packages and vehicles. HomeKit Secure Video also supports video descriptions, while the device can detect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm sounds and send alerts to your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.

Since HomeView is designed for multiple users, personal information such as Messages and Calendar will only be displayed when the recognised user’s paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and is unlocked.

For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0 and Thread networking technology. It also comes with an ambient light sensor, temperature and humidity sensor and accelerometer.

Apple HomeView tabletop vs wall-mounted

The standard Apple HomeView features a domed speaker base connected to the display through a stainless steel hinge, allowing users to adjust the viewing angle.

It weighs 952g and comes in four colours: Silver, Starlight, Rose Pink and Space Grey.

For audio, the tabletop model packs two custom full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer and dual force-cancelling passive radiators.

Meanwhile, the Apple HomeView (Wall Mounted) has a much slimmer design, measuring just 9.8mm thick and weighing 286g.

It retains two custom full-range drivers but does not include the woofer and passive radiators found on the tabletop version. Instead, Apple has tuned its computational audio specifically for wall-mounted use.

Both versions support Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos for music and video, along with real-time computational audio tuning.

The wall-mounted model is offered in either Silver and Space Grey.

One thing to note is that both versions require wired power as they don’t have a built-in battery.

The tabletop model comes with a 1.5m USB-C cable and a 30W power adapter in the box.

However, for the wall-mounted version, the compatible wall mount, USB-C cable and power adapter are sold separately.

Apple HomeView pricing and availability

In Singapore, both Apple HomeView models are priced at SGD 399 (approximately RM1,220) despite having fewer items bundled on the Wall Mounted version.

The official Singapore pricing is as follows:

  • Apple HomeView – SGD 399 (about RM1,275)
  • Apple HomeView (Wall Mounted) – SGD 399 (about RM1,275)

Pre-orders in Singapore will begin on 15 October 2026 at 9:00am SGT (9:00am Malaysian time), with both models officially available from 13 November 2026.

For reference, Apple has priced both versions at USD 299 (about RM1,222) in the United States.

At the moment, Apple has not announced pricing or availability details of the HomeView for Malaysia.
