Proton has officially launched the naturally aspirated (NA) version of the Proton S70 sedan. Officially known as the Proton S70 i-GT 1.5, it is available in two variants, including the S70 Lite and S70 Prime.

Here’s the official pricing for the new Proton S70 i-GT NA variants:
- Proton S70 i-GT 1.5 Lite: RM56,800
- Proton S70 i-GT 1.5 Prime: RM59,800
The pricing listed above is inclusive of the RM3,000 launch rebate. As a reference, below is the price list for the previously released turbocharged version of the S70 i-GT:

So, you are looking at a price difference of RM9,000 to RM33,100 between the naturally aspirated and turbocharged S70 i-GT models. Do note that the Executive variant has been reportedly discontinued, although it is still listed on Proton’s website at the time this report is published.
Proton S70 i-GT 1.5 NA Colourways, Warranty, Launch Package
The Proton S70 NA can be obtained in 5 colour options, including Quartz Black, Space Grey, Snow White, Marine Blue, and Armour Silver. The sedan is covered by a 5-year unlimited warranty and 6x free labour during scheduled maintenance service.
Aside from the RM3,000 launch rebate, customers who purchase and register their new S70 i-GT NA are also eligible for 9-year financing with an interest rate as low as 2.35% per annum. They can also take advantage of RM2,000 trade-in overtrade support and an upgraded Proton insurance programme.
Proton S70 i-GT 1.5 NA engine and CVT transmission
The NA i-GT engine on the Proton S70 Lite and S70 Prime is essentially the same i-GT 4-cylinder engine from the Proton Saga MC3, which produces 118hp (88kW) alongside 150Nm of torque.
When it comes to the transmission on the S70 i-GT NA, Proton has opted for an 8-speed CVT with a torque converter and manual mode, instead of the Punch-sourced CVT with a start-clutch system that was used on the Saga MC3 Premium.
Proton S70 i-GT 1.5 Lite vs. Prime: What are the differences?
The S70 Lite serves as the starting point for the new NA range, packing a comprehensive suite of baseline features which includes fabric seats, a 3.5-inch monochrome analogue meter, and an 8-inch infotainment head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
The S70 Lite also comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), an Electric Parking Brake (EPB), cruise control, remote engine start, and a reverse camera with rear parking sensors.
On the safety front, the S70 Lite comes standard with 6 airbags and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) alongside an extensive active safety suite, including Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), and Door Warning (DOW).
Naturally, stepping up to the S70 Prime introduces several key visual and comfort upgrades over the base model. The exterior gains automatic LED headlamps, auto-folding side mirrors, and larger 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin gets a notable bump in material quality with leatherette seats and a matching leatherette-wrapped steering wheel, along with automatic air conditioning. There’s also the addition of front parking sensors to complement the rear setup.
