Poco has officially launched its latest F-series flagship smartphones in Malaysia, consisting of the Poco F9 Pro and the higher-end Poco F9 Ultra.
This year, Poco is making some significant upgrades beyond just raw performance. Both models now feature 185Hz AMOLED displays, a dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset for gaming and 200MP main cameras. The Poco F9 Ultra takes things further with an 8,050mAh battery and a dedicated subwoofer.
However, these upgrades also come with higher prices. The Poco F9 Pro now starts at RM3,299, which is RM800 more than the RM2,499 retail price tag of its predecessor. Meanwhile, the Poco F9 Ultra starts at RM3,599, up RM400 from the previous F8 Ultra.
Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra Malaysia Pricing and Availability
The Poco F9 series is available in Malaysia from 1 September 2026. Here are the official retail prices:

Buyers also get a two-year warranty instead of the standard one year, a screen replacement within the first six months, three months of Google AI Pro and three months of YouTube Premium.

Poco F9 Ultra Malaysia Spec
The Poco F9 Ultra is the range topping model and it gets a large 6.9-inch AMOLED display pushing a resolution of 2608×1200 pixels. The refresh rate has been bumped significantly from 120Hz on the F8 Ultra to 185Hz.
The display boasts up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness when covering 25% of the display area and up to 10,000 nits for HDR content covering 1% of the display. The panel supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, while the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. .
Under the hood, the Poco F9 Ultra runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
There’s also a separate VisionBoost D8 chipset dedicated to visual processing allowing games can run at up to 185fps, while Smart Frame Rate and AI Super Resolution can operate simultaneously on selected titles.
More than 20 games are said to support native 185fps, while another five can achieve 185fps through frame interpolation. Actual frame rates will depend on the game, settings and operating conditions.
For cameras, the F9 Ultra gets a triple-camera setup consisting of a 200MP f/1.68 main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto camera with OIS. Poco says the telephoto camera offers 10x lossless zoom and up to 20x AI Ultra Zoom. Up front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera.
Another major upgrade is its battery. The F9 Ultra packs a massive 8,050mAh silicon-carbon battery, up from 6,500mAh on the F8 Ultra. It supports 100W wired HyperCharge as well as 50W wireless HyperCharge. There’s also up to 27W wired and 22.5W wireless reverse charging.
Poco continues its collaboration with Bose for the audio system. The F9 Ultra gets two stereo speakers and a dedicated subwoofer, effectively giving it a 2.1-channel speaker setup. There are Dynamic and Balanced Bose-tuned sound profiles, along with a Game audio mode for supported games.
Other features include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, eSIM support, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and IP68-rated dust and water resistance. It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and comes in Dark Cherry and Black.
Overall, the Poco F9 Ultra weighs 235g and measures 8.74mm thick.
Poco F9 Pro Malaysia Spec
If you’re looking for a flagship that’s more affordable, the Poco F9 Pro is the smaller of the two. It features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2510×1156 pixels. Like the Ultra, the refresh rate has been upgraded from 120Hz on its predecessor to 185Hz.
It also boasts up to 4,500 nits peak brightness covering 25% of the display and up to 10,000 nits for HDR content covering 1% of the screen. You also get Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Gorilla Glass 7i.
Under the hood, the F9 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series (SM8850-1-AB), paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Like the Ultra, there’s a dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset which enables Smart Frame Rate at up to 185fps on supported games. Cooling is handled by Poco’s 3D IceLoop system.
In the camera department, the F9 Pro now has a 200MP f/1.68 main camera with OIS, replacing the 50MP main camera on the F8 Pro.
There’s also a 50MP f/2.0 2.5x floating telephoto camera with OIS, which can focus from as close as 10cm for macro shots and a 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. Meanwhile, the front gets a 32MP selfie shooter.
Powering the F9 Pro is a 6,330mAh battery, a slight increase from the F8 Pro’s 6,210mAh capacity. It continues to support 100W wired HyperCharge, but the big upgrade this year is the addition of 50W wireless charging. It also supports up to 27W wired and 22.5W wireless reverse charging.
For audio, the F9 Pro gets dual stereo speakers with Sound by Bose tuning, although it misses out on the dedicated subwoofer found on the Ultra.
The F9 Pro also supports WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, eSIM, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and IP68-rated dust and water resistance. It runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and is available in White, Black and Aurora Green.
Interestingly, the Aurora Green version features Poco’s first full-panel luminous back. After exposed to sunlight or indoor lighting, the rear panel can glow in the dark. Poco says users can also create luminous patterns using a blue-violet laser pointer, which is sold separately.
The Poco F9 Pro weighs 206g and measures 8.79mm thick.
