Nubia has officially launched the Neo 5 Max 5G in Malaysia, positioning it as a “4-in-1 PadPhone” that blends a tablet-sized screen, gaming console-grade controls, an e-reader mode, and everyday smartphone portability into one device. It’s the most feature-packed phone in the Nubia Neo lineup to date.
Nubia Neo 5 Max 5G Malaysia Pricing and Availability

The Nubia Neo 5 Max 5G is priced in Malaysia as follows:
- Nubia Neo 5 Max 5G (8GB + 256GB) – from RM1,399
- Nubia Neo 5 Max 5G (8GB + 512GB) – Coming Soon (September 2026)
The Neo 5 Max comes in Shadow Black and Cyber Silver, with a bold “Eagle Eye” RGB lighting design on the back that reacts to gameplay.
If you buy during the early bird promo, from 17 August to 16 September 2026, the 8GB + 256GB version is only RM1,299 instead of RM1,399. You’ll also get a free Nubia Cooler, while stocks last.
You can buy it online through Shopee and Lazada. It’s also available in Nubia brand stores at IOI City Mall, IOI Mall Puchong, Plaza Low Yat, and Plaza Merdeka Kuching, plus authorised retailers DirectD and SS Solution.
A bigger screen for gaming

The first thing you’ll notice is the 7.5-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, which Nubia claims is the largest in its segment. You get a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits of peak brightness, and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio that Nubia designed around gamer eye-tracking data, so you get a wider field of view for spotting enemies in shooters. Compared to the standard Neo 5 5G, that works out to 27% more visible screen area. The panel is also SGS-certified with True DC Dimming and hardware-level blue light reduction, so your eyes shouldn’t feel it even after a long session.
Chipset and AI features
Under the hood, you’re getting a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset (6nm, up to 2.4GHz), paired with 8GB of RAM, which is “expandable” up to 20GB with 12GB of memory fusion enabled, plus 256GB of storage. Nubia lists an AnTuTu score of over 850,000, and the phone is MLBB 90 FPS Extreme Graphics certified, so you shouldn’t run into much trouble running most mobile titles at high settings.
On the software side, Demi AI Copilot 2.0 acts as an in-game assistant with a real-time gaming coach (supporting MLBB, Free Fire, PUBG, and more), a 24/7 gaming chatbot, and auto-chat replies. AI Game Space 5.0 adds performance tuning, trigger macros, and customisable key remapping.
Cooling and battery built for long sessions

To keep temperatures in check during extended gaming, the Neo 5 Max packs a 30,000mm²+ cooling system with a dual-layer capillary vapor chamber and a 3D raised VC panel. Nubia says this keeps the phone at a peak of just 38.4°C during an hour of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang at 90 FPS.
Battery life shouldn’t be an issue either, you’re looking at a 7,000mAh dual-cell battery rated for up to 13.4 hours of gaming, 14.1 hours of video playback, or 56.4 hours of 5G calls. It supports 45W fast charging (0-50% in about 31 minutes) and 10W reverse wireless charging. There’s also a Bypass Charging mode that lets you charge and play at the same time without overheating.
Console-style controls
Nubia has loaded the Neo 5 Max with several of its gaming-focused control features:
- Neo Triggers 5.0 – shoulder triggers with a 990Hz sample rate and 4.7ms response latency, with a wider, larger touch area for 4-finger control
- NeoTap Esports Touch Algorithm – a REDMAGIC-derived touch algorithm tuned for FPS games, reducing tap latency by up to 45% (Available via future OTA update)
- Magic Touch 3.0– an AI touch algorithm that filters out accidental inputs from wet or oily fingers
There’s also a high-precision gyroscope for motion controls, dual symmetrical speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning, and a Z-Axis linear motor for recoil-style haptic feedback.
