CMF, Nothing’s budget-friendly sub-brand, has officially announced the launch date for its next audio product.

Moving away from traditional in-ear designs, the upcoming CMF Clip Pro will be the brand’s first foray into open-wearable stereo (OWS) earbuds.

The official unveiling is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Tuesday, 4 August 2026 at 21:00 MYT.

CMF Clip Pro vs Nothing Ear (open): How do they differ?

This is not the first time Nothing has ventured into open-ear audio.

Back in late 2024, the parent brand launched the Nothing Ear (open) in Malaysia, priced at RM659. However, the upcoming CMF Clip Pro takes a distinctly different approach in terms of form factor, design, and target audience.

While the Nothing Ear (open) features a semi-transparent ear-hook design with a silicon wraparound band that sits over the top of the ear, leaks indicate that the CMF Clip Pro will adopt a clip-on cuff style. Instead of hooking over the ear, it clips directly onto the outer edge of the ear cartilage.

Aesthetically, the Nothing Ear (open) stuck to Nothing’s minimalist white transparent look. In contrast, speculation following early teasers on X suggests the CMF Clip Pro will launch in white and CMF’s signature vibrant orange colourway.

Anticipated pricing and specifications

Official technical details regarding driver size, battery life, and IP ratings remain completely under wraps ahead of tomorrow’s event.

However, price positioning will be the primary differentiator. Where the Nothing Ear (open) targeted the mid-to-high tier segment at RM659, CMF is built around accessible pricing.

The CMF Clip Pro is expected to undercut mainstream clip-style competitors like the Realme Buds Clip and Sony LinkBuds Clip, bringing open-wearable audio technology to a much lower price point.
