The local assembly (CKD) of Leapmotor EVs have officially begun at Stellantis’ facility in Gurun, Kedah. The multinational automotive conglomerate has also appointed Cycle & Carriage as the distributor for Leapmotor in Malaysia.

Stellantis has invested over RM25 million to implement the CKD project in Malaysia. This includes upgrading the infrastructure at the Gurun plant.

Stellantis Gurun Plant
Stellantis Gurun plant has an annual capacity of 60,000 units.

The first Leapmotor to be CKD in Malaysia is the C10, which was originally launched in our market in October 2024. Back in February, Stellantis released an updated version called C10 Plus that is equipped with a more powerful motor, a bigger battery, and faster DC charging speed.

At the moment, there are no changes to the pricing of C10 Plus, which starts at RM149,005 according to the price list on Leapmotor Malaysia’s website. As for the brand’s 2nd model for Malaysia, the Leapmotor B10, it will also be assembled at Gurun, although this will only take place within the next 2 to 3 months.
