Pro-Net might unveil a new Proton e.MAS 7 variant at the upcoming KL International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2026. This is based on the new teaser that Pro-Net has published on Proton e.MAS social media pages.
From our quick comparison, the image in the teaser appears to be the same as the one currently being used on Proton e.MAS website. If this is true, that means the e.MAS 7, which Proton is going to unveil next week, will probably have a similar exterior to the existing model.

In other words, we don’t expect Pro-Net to reveal a facelifted e.MAS 7. So, what would be the “new” attraction for this variant then?
Well, it is likely going to be a new battery with a larger capacity, which is something that e.MAS 7’s twin in China, the Geely Galaxy E5 received last year. In addition to that, several right-hand drive markets such as Australia and Thailand have also received the Geely EX5 with a larger capacity battery.
On a related note, Pro-Net also said that all will be revealed in 8 days, which puts it right on the KLIMS 2026’s media day.
What improvement will a larger battery provide to the Proton e.MAS 7?

When e.MAS 7 was first introduced into the market, the Prime variant features a 49.52kWh LFP-based Aegis Short Blade battery that allows it to deliver a WLTP-rated range of 345km. On the other hand, the e.MAS 7 Premium comes with a 60.22kWh battery, which enables it to have a WLTP-rated range of up to 410km.
The new battery that was rolled out to Galaxy E5 / EX5 in China, Thailand, and Australia has a capacity of 68.39kWh. While the difference might not sound much when compared to the existing e.MAS Premium, the higher capacity battery, has increased the WLTP-rated range of the electric SUV from 410km to as high as 475km.

Now, will Pro-Net revamp its e.MAS 7 lineup to fit the new variant, or will the company simply introduce it as the third e.MAS 7 variant? Well, stay tuned for more details next week.
