If you noticed your BUDI95 quota showing 150 litres instead of the usual 200 litres last night, there’s no need to panic. The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has clarified that the reduced quota display was caused by a technical error during a scheduled system maintenance.
MOF has confirmed that some users may have seen their monthly BUDI95 quota displayed as 150 litres while maintenance works were carried out at 11pm on 31 May 2026.
The ministry said the issue was caused by a technical system error which has since been identified and rectified.
In its statement, MOF stressed that there have been no changes made to the BUDI95 programme’s monthly quota to buy subsidised RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre. Eligible recipients will continue to receive a quota of 200 litres per month, including June 2026 which was refreshed recently at midnight.

It iterated that no changes have been made to the monthly BUDI95 quota and they apologised for any confusion caused by the technical error.
MOF said it will continue to ensure the BUDI95 programme is implemented smoothly, transparently and in an orderly manner to protect the interests of the public while ensuring targeted fuel subsidies are given to eligible recipients.

At approximately 11:15pm on 31st May 2026, several users had noticed that their monthly BUDI95 subsidised RON95 fuel quota was reduced from 200L to 150L as shown above. The bug affected both Touch ‘n Go eWallet and Setel’s BUDI95 pages. After 12:00am, the monthly quota was restored back to 200L.
With BUDI95, eligible Malaysians can purchase subsidised RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre. The monthly quota was recently reduced from 300 litres to 200 litres due to the middle east conflict. Once the monthly BUDI95 quota is depleted, consumers would have to pay for unsubsidised RON95 prices until their quota resets on the 1st of every month.
For the week of 28 May to 3 June 2026, the cost of unsubsidised RON95 is RM3.92 per litre while unsubsidised RON97 is at RM4.65 per litre.
Meanwhile, Diesel B10/B20 costs RM4.87 per litre and B7 at RM5.07 per litre in Peninsular Malaysia. In East Malaysia, Diesel is still subsidised with B10/B20 priced at RM2.15 per litre, while B7 at RM2.35 per litre.
