Gentari is introducing an off-peak charging trial that offers cheaper DC Charging at selected locations. The campaign runs from 30th April to 30th May 2026, with discounted pricing automatically applied during quieter hours after midnight.
According to Gentari, the move to introduce off-peak charging is aimed at improving EV charger availability by encouraging usage during off-peak while providing better value to users.
The trial will run for a month and they will update the programme based on usage and feedback.
Gentari off-peak charging: 15% lower rates from 12:00am to 6:59am

Under this trial, Gentari is offering a reduced charging rate of RM1.36/kWh during off-peak hours, which run daily from 12:00AM to 6:59AM starting Thursday, 30th April. This is a 15% reduction compared to its standard DC charging rate of RM1.60/kWh, which applies from 7:00AM to 11:59PM.
There’s no need to manually activate the off-peak rate using promo codes. The applicable pricing is automatically reflected in the Gentari Go app before you begin a charging session, based on the time of day.
Gentari Go subscribers on the Power Pass (50% off), GO Starter (15% off) and GO Plus (30% off) plans can enjoy additional savings too. It is stated that subscribers are able to enjoy additional savings on top of the off-peak charging rates.
