Grab driver and deliver-partners can now enjoy a rebate of up to RM25,000 on BYD electric vehicles. The new initiative is part of the partnership between Grab Malaysia and BYD Sime Motors, which started with the launch of the Grab EV service at Kuala Lumpur International Airport earlier this year.
With this announcement, it appears that Grab Malaysia is finally ready to integrate EVs into its offerings. While there are already a small number of Grab drivers that use EVs, the company does not differentiate them from those that use ICE-based vehicles, except for the Grab EV service at KLIA.
The new offer is available for almost all BYD EVs that have been released in Malaysia, with the exception of BYD Dolphin and Denza D9. However, the exact rebate that a Grab driver can obtain depends on the respective models:
Alongside these rebates, Grab drivers who opted for this offer will also be eligible for 2% rebates on parts when they service their BYD EV. That being said, they have to pay for the vehicle service in cash in order to utilise this particular rebate.
According to Grab, the BYD EV rebates are available for all driver and delivery-partners all over Malaysia except for previously terminated or banned drivers. Available from now until 31 December 2025, Grab drivers who are interested in this can visit the nearest BYD showrooms or register their interest on Grab Malaysia’s official website.
