Malaysia Airlines is now using Mercedes-Benz luxury saloons for its private terminal transfer service between the Main Terminal and the Satellite Building at KLIA Terminal 1. This was first revealed alongside the launch of its first Airbus A330neo last month but the new arrangement is only in place starting from 16 January onwards.

This private terminal transfer service was originally launched early last year, generally in response to the termination of Aerotrain service which right now still has no confirmed resumption date. At that time, it was done through a collaboration with BMW Group Malaysia and Ingress Auto.

Unlike previous arrangement which utilises full EVs in the form of BMW i7, the new partnership with Mercedes-Benz will also include hybrid model. Specifically, the Stuttgart outfit provides Malaysia Airlines with S 580 e plug-in hybrid alongside EQS 500 4Matic EV.

Both models are some of the highest-end models that Mercedes-Benz has to offer in Malaysia. In addition to that, they were also assembled at the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia CKD plant in Pekang, Pahang.

Even though S 580 e is a plug-in hybrid, it can still deliver up to 100km of all-electric range which is more than enough for its job at KLIA Terminal 1. Meanwhile, range is definitely not an issue for EQS 500 4Matic as it capable of providing range of up to 696km.

How to get a ride on Malaysia Airlines x Mercedes-Benz Malaysia private transfer service?

Meanwhile, Enrich Platinum and Gold members will be to participate in future Mercedes-Benz Malaysia events as well as enjoy curated #MyMercedesRewards experience on selected EV and PHEV models.

Enrich Platinum and Gold members that purchase a new Mercedes-Benz model this year will also have the opportunity to join an exclusive trip to Germany. Naturally, the new partnership also opens the doors for Mercedes-Benz customers in general to Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich events.
