Sunway Medical Centre and Samsung Malaysia have launched “Time to Move”, a wellness programme which aims to motivate users to take charge of their well-being and achieve their fitness goals by January 2025. Over 200 users have signed up for the 90-day programme and 60 participants have been shortlisted to embark on the journey.

Besides getting professional guidance from Sunway Medical Centre, participants are provided with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 to monitor their daily activities, calories burned, body composition and sleep quality. Through Samsung Health, participants will be given challenges to conduct physical activities and to hit a targetted sleep score to keep them motivated during their fitness journey.

Besides individual physical challenges, there are also group workout sessions led by experts to ensure participants remain motivated and engaged throughout the duration.

The “Time to Move” programme was designed for individuals aged 18 years old and above who wish to improve their health, provided they are not on any medication. The 90-day kick-off is happening on 19th October, and participants must undergo a comprehensive health screening at Sunway Wellness Centre which includes an Inbody test and a blood test to establish health metrics.

During the programme, participants are required to submit screenshots of their monthly challenges and attend monthly health talks by medical professionals to help them reach their fitness goals.

By the end of the 90 days, participants will undergo a final check-up to compare their results and to celebrate their progress. The final check-up and winner announcement is scheduled for 18th January 2025.

Participants will be evaluated based on several criteria which include weight loss, step count, fat loss, lipid profile improvements and active group workout participation. Participants who score 70% or higher will get to keep their smartwatch and be shortlisted to win additional prizes. The prizes include a Galaxy Z Flip 6 and a 3D2N getaway for two at The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat.

Commenting on the programme, Sunway Medical Centre CEO Dr Seow Vei Ken said, “At Sunway Medical Centre, we would like to empower individuals to take control of their health in a meaningful and sustainable way. The Time to Move programme reflects our commitment to holistic wellness, starting with an initial body check-up to help participants understand where they stand, and ending with a final assessment that shows how far they’ve come. It’s not just about knowing your numbers at the start, but about making real changes over 90 days to become a healthier version of yourself.”
