Zeekr Malaysia is launching its new electric vehicles soon and is now accepting bookings for the Zeekr X. The Zeekr X is a compact SUV closely related to the Smart #1 and the Volvo EX30.

The Zeekr X indicated pricing has been announced and seems to undercut its closest rivals in the segment.

Zeekr X Malaysia Pricing and Booking

According to Zeekr Malaysia, the Zeekr X Compact SUV is indicated to be priced at RM180,000 and below. Malaysian buyers can now secure their unit by placing a booking fee of RM2,000 via their online booking form.

For the Malaysian market, the Zeekr X will be offered in two variants – Premium and Flagship AWD. Both models are offered in 5 exterior colours – Crystal White, Mist Grey, Grid Grey, Palace Beige and Pine Green, along with interior options of Charcoal Black and Stone Grey.

Zeekr X Malaysia key specs and features

The range-topping Flagship AWD features two motors that produce 422hp and it can get from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the Premium variant is the RWD model with a single motor pushing 268hp and an acceleration time of 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds.

Both versions are equipped with a 66kWh battery and it supports 150kW DC fast charging. According to Zeekr Malaysia, both EVs can charge from 10-80% in 30 minutes.

If these figures sound familiar, the Zeekr X is built on the same Geely-developed SEA platform that’s utilised by Smart and Volvo’s new compact EVs.

Zeekr X Right-Hand Drive

In terms of safety, the Zeekr X has received 5-star Euro NCAP and Green NCAP ratings. It comes equipped with 7 airbags, 360-degree cameras and digital video recording (DVR), as well as a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic lane change (ALC), lane centering control (LCC), lane keeping assist (LKA), collision mitigation support for front and rear, door open warning (DOW), front cross traffic assist (FCTA), rear cross traffic assist (RCTA), parking emergency braking (PEB), blind spot detection (BSD), Evasive Manoeuvre Assist (EMA), Automated Parking Assist (APA) and Driver Performance Monitor (DPM).

Zeekr X competes directly with the Volvo EX30 and Smart #1

With the pricing of RM180,000 and below, the Zeekr X is certainly an interesting new premium compact EV option in Malaysia. As a comparison, the Volvo EX30 is priced from RM188,888 for the base Plus model and goes all the way to RM228,888 for the Ultra Twin Performance model which has dual motors pushing 422hp.

Meanwhile, the Smart #1 is now priced from RM169,000 for the base RWD model with a smaller 49kWh battery, while the Premium RWD model with a 66kWh battery is priced at RM209,000. The range-topping Smart #1 Brabus with twin motors and 422hp is still priced at RM249,000.

Zeekr in Malaysia is represented by Sentinel Automotive Sdn Bhd, which looks after sales, after-sales service and spare parts.
