When was the last time you heard petroleum companies offer free fuel to consumers? Unlike ICE vehicles, you can get free electricity to charge your EV through various means, including Charge Point Operators (CPO) promotions.

ChargEV Merdeka 2024 Promotion

Among the latest examples is Yinson GreenTech’s (YGT) new promotion for the ongoing Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day celebrations. Under this promotion, EV owners can now utilise 3.7kW and 7kW ChargEV AC chargers across Malaysia until 16 September 2024.

Here’s how to find ChargEV 3.7kW and 7kW AC chargers

ChargEV 7kW AC Charger

As YGT is one of the largest CPOs in the country, there are hundreds of ChargEV chargers throughout Malaysia. So, it might be overwhelming if you try to look for them blindly.

To ease your search, you can set the Charing Power (kW) filter in the Map section of the ChargEV app to 3kW and 7kW. In addition to that, don’t forget to make sure that the ChargEV chargers, Type 2 (Cable), and Type 2 (Socket) options have also been enabled.

ChargEV Merdeka 2024 Promotion

From our own experience with the filter, the results that we got were 60 chargers. However, all of them are located in the Peninsular Malaysia though.
