CelcomDigi has officially launched its CelcomDigi AI Experience Centre (AiX) at its premises located in Subang Jaya’s Hi-Tech Park. AiX is described as a state-of-the-art 5G and AI-powered facility to inspire and advance digital solutions across a variety of sectors and verticals.

Launched by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, AiX is aimed at becoming a focal point for cross-industry collaboration, leveraging emerging technologies such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Extended Reality (XR), Robotics, Analytics and Metaverse.

CelcomDigi CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi said, “Emerging technologies such as AI are revolutionising the world, and Malaysia must keep pace with this progress to build a flourishing digital nation. Over 1.5 years ago, we made a strong commitment to play a pivotal role to realise this ambition, leveraging our greater combined capabilities as a merged company to invest and drive digitalisation, innovation and sustainable growth for the nation. The AI Experience Centre is a realisation of the national benefit of the merger, where CelcomDigi’s scale and capabilities are able to attract and partner global and regional digital tech giants to accelerate the development of cutting-edge digital solutions – positioning us a strong ally to the nation’s digital aspirations.”

Built on a partnership model, AiX is powered by an extensive and growing ecosystem of 40 global technology leaders, local partners and solution providers, ranging from core partners Huawei and ZTE, to other collaborative partners which include AWS, Digital Nasional Berhad, Ericsson, Microsoft, SK Telecom, Softbank, Sumitomo and Yinson, and more. CelcomDigi and its partners have collectively invested RM55 million to support the ambition to co-create use cases for Malaysia.

According to CelcomDigi, they will continue to invest in infrastructure, partnerships and competencies needed to support Malaysia through the rapid tech changes.

AiX houses two inspiring spaces – The Infinity and The Gallery. The Infinity area provides visitors with immersive and interactive experiences of digital society simulations using cutting-edge audio-visual technology. Meanwhile, The Gallery showcases a physical array of real-world industrial use-cases to display the transformative potential of emerging technologies key to enterprise growth.

CelcomDigi says the respective simulations display a range of 5G and AI-powered technologies and robotics across 8 verticals such as manufacturing, logistics, energy, fleet, port, healthcare, education and agritech. 13 out of the 45 featured solutions are actual live uses cases being piloted with enterprises in Malaysia.

CelcomDigi is inviting technology and business partners, academia, government agencies and corporate organisations to visit the AiX to get a glimpse of the future through immersive and interactive exhibits. According to the telco, the displayed use cases will be refreshed periodically to ensure visitors and co-creators can test and experience the latest technologies.
