If you’re looking for a budget monthly 5G plan, Yes 5G has revealed a cheaper FT5G 20 prepaid that offers a generous 50GB of data for only RM20/month. That’s equivalent to 40 sen per GB.

In case you can’t finish your data quota, the plan even offers data rollover, allowing you to carry forward unused data to the following month.

The Yes Prepaid 5G 20 plan costs RM20/month and it comes with 50GB of 5G and 4G data quota that comes with uncapped speed. In addition, this 50GB quota can be utilised for hotspot usage and the plan still comes with unlimited calls. According to the FAQ, the unlimited calls are for both on-net and off-net usage.

On the footnote, it is mentioned that you can carry over your unused data to the next month with the same add-on purchase before the service expiry date. However, there are no further data rollover details in the add-on T&C.

As a comparison, the popular FT5G Unlimited plan at RM30/month offers unlimited 5G and 4G data but it gets a limited 12GB of hotspot quota that’s shared for 4G and 5G. The speeds for 5G are uncapped but if the network drops to 4G, the speed is capped at 7Mbps. However, if you enable Autopay with a saved payment card, you can get an extra RM5/month rebate, brining down the monthly subscription cost to RM25/month.

The new Yes Prepaid FT5G 20 plan can be subscribed via the Yes Online store and MyYes app, or you can sign up at a Yes Store and Yes Authorised dealer.

For more info, you can visit the Yes 5G Prepaid page.
