If you’re looking for a cheaper way to buy a Tesla with an official warranty, you can now buy the demonstrator units for the Tesla Model 3 in Malaysia. At the time of writing, there are two units available and both are the Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive version.

Tesla Model 3 Demo Units in Malaysia

Tesla Model 3 Demo Units on sale on Tesla Malaysia’s website

Here are the current available demo units available at Tesla Malaysia’s inventory list:

  • Model 3 LR AWD (78km mileage) Stealth Grey, 19″ Nova Wheels, Black and White interior – RM227,840 (RRP: RM230,000)
  • Model 3 LR AWD (13km mileage) Ultra Red, 19″ Nova Wheels, Black and White interior – RM231,310 (RRP: RM233,500)

Essentially, you are saving a mere RM2,160 to RM2,190 compared to a brand-new unit.

According to Tesla, these demo vehicles meet their cosmetic standards which means they have passed internal inspection and may undergo light repairs in preparation for a sale. Customers should expect some normal wear and tear indicative of the age and mileage of the vehicle.

Tesla added on their website that these demo units meets or exceeds their mechanical standards which include no evidence of structural repairs, tyres with a 4mm minimum thread depth and brake pads with a minimum of 6mm.

If you’re keen on getting these demo units, you’ll have to pay a non-refundable deposit of RM1,000 on their website. For the Tesla Model 3 Stealth Grey with 19″ Nova Wheels, and the Black and White interior, it will cost you a total of RM229,540 excluding on-the-road registration fees.

Brand New Model 3 LR on sale with stock available

For just a mere couple thousand ringgit in savings, it would be better to buy a brand new unit that’s available in stock. According to their listing, they have the same Model 3 LR with 19″ Nova Wheels and Black and White interior in both Stealth Grey and Ultra Red.

Tesla Model 3 Specs and Pricing

Following a recent price cut, the Tesla Model 3 now starts from RM181,000 for the base RWD model and RM210,000 for the Long Range AWD model. The white colour option is offered for free and you’ll have to pay RM5,000 for Black and Blue, RM7,500 for Stealth Grey and RM11,000 for Ultra Red.

By default, the Model 3 gets 18″ Photon Wheels as standard and you’ll have to pay RM7,500 extra to switch to the bigger 19″ Nova Wheels. If you want to change the interior to white seats with white trims on the door and dashboard, that’s an additional RM5,000.

The Tesla Model 3 RWD comes with a WLTP-rated range of 513km and it boasts a 0-100km/h time of 6.1 seconds. Meanwhile, the Long Range AWD version boasts a longer WLTP-rated range of 629km and it can get from 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds. The Long Range model gets different materials for the door panels and it also gets a 17-speaker audio system instead of just 9 on the RWD model.
