[ UPDATE 6/3/2024 12:26 ] Facebook is back! But Instagram still seems to be having issues refreshing the feed.

It’s not just you. Meta’s social media platforms which include Facebook, Instagram and FB Messenger are currently down. Most users worldwide including Malaysia have reportedly been logged out from the respective platforms. Some even thought that their social media accounts were ‘hacked’ as they couldn’t log in to their accounts.
When you try to log in to your Facebook or Instagram account, you’ll either be greeted with an error message or have issues loading the social media feed.
As expected, Meta, #instagramdown, FB and IG are currently trending on X (formerly known as Twitter) as users turn to alternative platforms to share about the service disruption. Meta has not provided any updates on the issue via its official account on X.
DownDetector has also recorded a surge of user complaints for the three Meta platforms in the past 15 minutes. Meanwhile, MetaStatus.com which tracks the status of Meta business products, indicated major outages across its platforms. Its Ads Manager, Facebook & Instagram Shops, Meta Admin Centre, Facebook Login, Graph API, WhatsApp Business API and Marketing API are currently experiencing major disruptions.
Interestingly, Meta’s popular instant messenger WhatsApp is still working normally at the time of writing.
Taking a jab at the situation, Elon Musk even tweeted that if you can read his post, it is because their servers are still working.
