Joining the new ‘Biru’ and ‘Kuning’ prepaid launched yesterday, and the ‘unified’ postpaid packages launched late last year, CelcomDigi quietly added two new postpaid packages, called ‘Postpaid 5G SE’. The new packages offer a more basic postpaid experience when compared to the other packages already available from the telco.

Postpaid 5G 40 SE and 60 SE join CelcomDigi’s postpaid family

The two packages are called Postpaid 5G 40 SE and Postpaid 5G 60 SE. The former is now the brand’s cheapest postpaid plan, replacing the older Digi Postpaid 40 and Postpaid 60.

For Postpaid 5G 40 SE, the monthly commitment is only RM40, with a monthly data quota of 40GB. For Postpaid 5G 60 SE, the monthly commitment is RM60 with a monthly data of 70GB. Plus, CelcomDigi will throw in extra data if customers select to take a 12-month contract. Customers will get an extra 20GB of data with 40 SE while 60 SE users will see 35GB of data added to their monthly quota.

Fibre and Supplementary Line add-ons for CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 60 SE

There are 5G data included with the packages, so you will not be missing out on the high-speed experience. For those looking to add supplementary lines with the SE plans, it is only possible with the 60 SE – you can’t add a family line or a Gadget SIM with the 40 SE package. The 60 SE postpaid package however can add up to two additional lines, with each costing RM30 a month.

For those looking to do hotspots on the go, the two new packages will share the data quota for hotspot internet with the monthly internet quota. Unfortunately, there are no promos offered for international roaming with the new postpaid packages.

An additional benefit the 60 SE plan has over the 40 SE plan is 6 months of free CelcomDigi Fibre 300Mbps.

Max 100Mbps download speeds only

After comparing the previously released postpaid plans, we have determined that the FUP of the new packages are similar to the CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 80. You get a max of 100Mbps download, and 25Mbps upload speeds. The TNC still does not list the throttled speeds once you used up your mobile quota for Essential 5G, which the 40 SE and 60 SE packages are parked under. However, we have confirmed with CelcomDigi that once the monthly quota is used up, the speed will be throttled down to 512kbps. Customers can buy more internet quota if needed.

As usual, these plans come with unlimited calls to all networks in Malaysia.

For now, the packages are exclusive to the physical Digi and Celcom stores only. Customers on existing Celcom and Digi Postpaid plans can change to the new Postpaid 5G SE plans. For more info on the new postpaid plans, head to the official page here.

Thanks @nagakanesh for the tip!
