Pakej pHailing Rahmah: Maxis offers rebates up to RM480 for delivery riders

Maxis is among the five telcos to introduce Pakej pHailing Rahmah. The initiative is aimed at offering delivery riders discounted telco plans which are crucial for their daily needs. Similar to U Mobile, Maxis is offering monthly rebates for pHailing riders on selected postpaid plans. Depending on which plan you’re on, Maxis is offering rebates of up to RM480 over two years.

Just like other telcos, the Pakej pHailing Rahmah is offered via their Business plans. The initiative is only for individuals who are employees or riders of selected pHailing platforms with valid staff ID or active riders’ app access.

Although Hotlink Prepaid 35 is listed, the cheapest plan that’s entitled to rebates is Hotlink Postpaid 60 which offers 100GB of 5G data and unlimited calls and SMS for RM60/month.

According to their FAQ, eligible delivery riders can get RM10 off each month for 24 months (RM240 rebate) on Hotlink Postpaid 60 and 70 as well as Maxis Postpaid 79. On the higher postpaid plans such as Postpaid 109, 139, 169 and 199, Maxis is offering a monthly rebate of RM20 for 24 months (RM480 rebate).

If you’re planning to get a new 5G smartphone with your plan, the rebate is also applicable when you get the device contract on Maxis Postpaid 79 and above. Take note that you can only enjoy rebates for either the SIM-only plan or device bundle, but not both.

The rebates of up to RM480 are available to both new and existing customers including transfer between prepaid to postpaid, and consumer to business individual lines. Unfortunately, there’s no rebate available for plan downgrades.

There’s no contract if you opt for the SIM-only plan and users are free to terminate the plan at any time. If a customer signs up with a new device bundle, there will be a lock-in contract period. A termination penalty/fee will be charged if a customer terminates the plan before the contract ends. It is stated that the early termination fees will be calculated based on the device’s recommended retail price multiplied by ( remaining months / 24 months) of the contract, plus an additional RM100 admin fee.

Delivery riders who wish to sign up with Maxis to enjoy the rebates can either walk in into a Maxis Centre or Maxis Exclusive Partner store or sign up during any pHailing roadshows or via Maxis’ pHailing website. The Pakej pHailing Rahmah offer is available from 23rd January 2024 until 30th June 2024.
