The Audi SQ8 e-tron series is now officially in Malaysia, marking the first major launch of 2024 for the German marque in our market. It was teased during the launch event for the first batch of Audi e-tron EVs in Malaysia last year which include the RS e-tron GT, e-tron GT, Q8 e-tron, and Q8 Sportback e-tron,

Similar to the existing Q8 e-tron series, the new SQ8 e-tron electric SUVs can be obtained in its standard form and the sleeker Sportback variant. Here’s what the pricing for both models looked like in Malaysia:
- Audi SQ8 e-tron quattro: RM520,790
- Audi SQ8 Sportback e-tron quattro: RM530,790
Do note that the price tags mentioned above are On-The-Road (OTR) pricing that includes registration, inspection, number plate, HP endorsement fees, and a 10% sales tax. However, it does not include insurance.
When it comes to colourways, the SQ8 e-tron family certainly have plenty of them to go around. Customers can choose to have their high-performance SUVs draped in Magnet Grya, Ultra Blue, Chronos Gray, Mythos Black, Plasma Blue, Daytona Gray, and Glacier White.
A standard 2-year manufacturer warranty with unlimited mileage covers all SQ8 e-tron models. The high voltage battery on these electric SUVs also has its own 8-year/160,000 km warranty while Audi Malaysia also provides complimentary Roadside Assistance for 5 years.
For peace of mind, customers can choose to obtain the Audi Assurance Package (APP) for their new SQ8 e-tron which extends the manufacturer warranty to another 3 years. This optional package includes scheduled maintenance for 3 years or 45,000km, whichever comes first.
Once you include the APP, the OTR price of the standard SQ8 e-tron would then be RM533,790. As for the SQ8 Sportback e-tron, the OTR price tag with APP is RM543,790.
Audi SQ8 e-tron Malaysia quick specs
At a glance, they may look identical to the Q8 e-tron series that was launched in Malaysia last year. However, the SQ8 e-tron family is much more powerful with several exclusive elements to match their S-line status.
The SQ8 e-tron models are equipped with two electric motors on the back as well as another motor on its front. Together, they deliver 370kW (497hp) alongside 973Nm of torque.
The high-performance tri-motor setup allows these SQ8 e-tron SUVs to go from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.5km. When it comes to top speed, both models can go all the way up to 210km/h.
Regardless of the standard or Sportback variant, both of them have been fitted with a 114kWh battery pack. It enables the standard SQ8 e-tron to deliver a WLTP-rated range of up to 416km while the more aerodynamic Sportback counterpart offers a slightly higher range of 427km.
Both models with the SQ8 e-tron family support DC fast charging of up to 170kW which allows them to be charged from 10% to 80% in 31 minutes. In Malaysia, they are also equipped with a 22kW onboard AC charger as standard which is a great plus.
