While the EV was available for order in Malaysia last month, it is only today that the all-new Tesla Model 3 has officially made its debut in our market. If you have been waiting to physically see this EV for yourself, we have good news: yes, you can have a closer look at the Model 3 today itself.

Also known as the “Project Highland”, you can choose to check out the Model 3 in three venues. The first one would be the location of the official launch itself which is at the Central Court area of Pavilion Damansara Heights Mall.

The Model 3 is on display in this area up until 5 November 2023 which means you have slightly over two weeks to check out the EV there. On another hand, you can also visit the equally new Tesla Experience Centre located on the second level of the mall, next to the Damansuria Entrance.

With a footprint of 3,000 square feet, Tesla Malaysia said that it is the company’s first-ever flagship-class showroom. That being said, it is technically the second Tesla Experience Centre in our market after Tesla Centre Cyberjaya.

Speaking about the Cyberjaya facility, yes, you can also check out the new Model 3 over there. However, we have been hearing from several Tesla Advisors that the new EV will only be there starting from 4:00 PM onwards, so plan your visit accordingly.

Tesla Model 3 Malaysia pricing

Unlike Model Y which has three options to choose from, the Model 3 for the Malaysian market is only available in two variants:

  • Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): RM189,000
  • Tesla Model 3 Long Range: RM218,000

The pricing mentioned above is only the base pricing though. Once you include the related fees such as delivery & administration, number plate, and order, this is how it looks like:

  • Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): RM190,700
  • Tesla Model 3 Long Range: RM219,700

Tesla Malaysia also pointed out the price tag above does not include on-the-road registration fees. As per Model Y, the incoming Model 3 is fully imported which means it is eligible for EV incentives such as import and excise duty exemptions and free road tax until the end of 2025.

Tesla Model 3 Malaysia colours and options

Regardless of your chosen variant, the standard Model 3 in Malaysia comes in Pearl White, Black interior, and 18-inch Photon Wheels. For other colours, there is an additional fee.

Here are other colour options available in Malaysia for Model 3:

  • Solid Black – RM5,000
  • Deep Blue Metallic – RM5,000
  • Stealth Grey – RM7,500
  • Ultra Red – RM11,000

You can also get the Black & White combo interior for RM5,000. If you want to obtain the larger 19-inch Nova Wheels, that’s an additional RM7,500 on top of the price of your Model 3.

Let’s not forget about the tech options too:

  • Enhanced Autopilot: RM16,000
  • Full Self-Driving (FSD): RM32,000

First delivery to begin by the end of the year

Tesla’s current line-up in Malaysia.

During the official launch of Tesla Centre Cyberjaya, Tesla Regional Director Isabel Fan reiterated the company’s commitment to deliver the first batch of Model 3 to Malaysia customers by the end of this year. Hence, this means Model 3 customers in Malaysia will get their new EV much earlier than their Model Y despite being made available for order much earlier.

Just like Model Y, you can now book Model 3 through Tesla Malaysia’s website right away by paying a non-refundable order fee of RM1,000. This order fee is already counted into the price tag of the EV.
