Asus has announced its latest laptop in Malaysia, the budget friendly Vivobook 16. This time around, it’s been kitted out with AMD processors while packing a large 16-inch display, all while retaining a relatively low price tag.

Asus Vivobook 16 Malaysia pricing and availability

The Asus Vivobook 16 will be available in two configurations, which are:

  • Asus Vivobook 16, AMD Ryzen 5 7530U, 8GB RAM 512GB SSD – RM2,599
  • Asus Vivobook 16, AMD Ryzen 7 7730U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM2,999

Both variants are already available for purchase from the Asus Malaysia official eStore, with your option of either Indie Black or Cool Silver colourways.

Asus Vivobook 16 specs

As its name implies, the Asus Vivobook 16 features a large 16-inch, IPS display pushing a WUXGQ (1920 x 1200p) resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio. The display is also capable of an up to 300nits of peak brightness with 45% coverage of the NTSC colour gamut; no fancy refresh rates here as you’ll only get the standard 60Hz panel with the Vivobook 16.

Under the hood, the Vivobook 16 has the Zen 3-based AMD Ryzen 5 7530U with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD on the base model, with the higher tier laptop packing a Ryzen 7 7730U with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD instead. Keeping it all cool is an Asus IceBlade fan cooling system with dual air vents. You’ll also find Windows 11 Home out of the box.

For I/O meanwhile you’ll find a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB-A 2.0 port, a HDMI 1.4 port, a 3.5mm combo audio jack and a DC-in port. You’ll also get support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity. Keeping the lights on meanwhile is a 42Whr battery. Other features of note include a 720p webcam with privacy shutter, a fingerprint sensor, and a full sized keyboard with 1.4mm key travel.
