Electric vehicle owners will soon be able to utilise Kuro EV’s 50kW DC fast charger in Seri Kembangan at a discounted rate of RM1/minute. At the moment, it costs RM1.20/minute to charge your EV there.

This particular charger was installed at One South Street Mall which is located just a few hundred meters before the Sungai Besi’s toll plaza. Hence, it is suitable for those who want to top up their EV before making the journey towards Seremban and Johor Bharu.

Let’s say you are driving a BYD Atto 3 Standard Range which has a 49.92kWh battery and a WLTP range of 345km. With the promo pricing, you are looking at a charging fee of RM30 to obtain about 25kWh of energy with 30 minutes of charging time, assuming that you can get a steady 50kW rate.

With that amount of energy, the Atto 3 should be able to travel for around 150km to 170km. Without the promo pricing, you have to pay RM36 instead.

The IP65-rated Tritium RTM50 DC fast charger that Kuro EV deployed at the location is the first Tritium installation in Malaysia. Equipped with a cable retraction system which helps take some of the weight away from the charging cable. it also allows users to easily handle these liquid-cooled cables while making sure that they remain properly stowed when not in use.

The charger’s LCD screen also has a user-friendly interface which showed the charging duration, battery level, and charging rate although you are not able to remotely monitor your EV’s charging progress, unlike the Kempower DC chargers. While the charger has been fitted with two CCS2 connectors, do note that only one of them works at a time.

Kuro EV’s DC fast charger in One South Street Mall can be accessed through the JomCharge app as well as Setel. Before you rush over to charge your EV there, do note that this promo will only take place from 28 August onwards and will last until 27 September 2023.
