Yes! You can pay nothing to get the Nothing Phone (2) from Yes 5G

The Nothing Phone (2) is now officially in Malaysia, and judging from the crowd over at Crossover Mid Valley during its first retail drop on 15th July, it’s rather popular among Malaysians. During the launch, local telco Yes 5G also dropped by to announce that the higher spec model of the Nothing Phone (2) will cost you absolutely nothing when you sign up for a plan with them.

Of course, there are some terms and conditions that you’ll have to pay attention to. For starters, the promotion will only apple to their Yes 5G Infinite+ Ultra postpaid plan, which comes in at a not insignificant RM178 per month. You’ll also have to sign a 36-month contract plan with Yes 5G, which then entitles you to the Nothing Phone (2) with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The plan itself offers you unlimited full speed 5G and 4G data, unlimited calls and 110GB of hotspot data a month.

Alternatively, if you want to get the Nothing Phone (2) with 512GB of storage but without a contract, Yes 5G is also offering the device with its Infinite Basic postpaid plan. However, rather than getting the Nothing Phone (2) for nothing, you’ll be paying its full price tag of RM3,499 for the higher storage model. Yes 5G will then offer you the Infinite Basic plan at RM38/month, instead of its regular RM58 monthly fee for the first 12 months.

Curiously, Yes 5G’s promotional material for the Nothing Phone (2) deal appears to show the same unlimited 5G+4G data and calls along with a 110GB hotspot quota; the Yes Infinite Basic plan usually offers 20GB of hotspot per month only.

[UPDATE 17 July]: Yes 5G has since reached out to us to confirm that the above promotion for the Nothing Phone (2) with the Infinite Basic Plan does not have a 110GB hotspot quota. Instead, it retains its usual 20GB hotspot quota per month.

The Nothing Phone (2) will be made available on the Yes 5G website from 22nd July onwards and if you’re interested you can click here to register your interest with Yes 5G and Nothing first. You can also click here to learn more about the Nothing Phone (2).
