If you need a quick DC charge for your electric vehicle (EV) in Kuala Lumpur, ChargEV has announced that it is extending the trial rates for its Kempower chargers at Berjaya Times Square. These are not only ChargEV’s fastest chargers yet but they are also the fastest in downtown KL.

The trial rate for the DC chargers located at the main entrance of Berjaya Times Square of RM1.20 per kWh will be continued until 30th June 2023. Meanwhile, the 22kW AC chargers located at Basement 1 costs RM0.80 per kWh for non-members and RM0.60 per kWh for members.

The DC chargers at Berjaya Times Square are Kempower satellite units which are capable of pushing up to 320kW. For EVs with 800V architecture such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6, these chargers can push 10-80% charge in less than 20 minutes. Take note that the two charging bays are free to use for up to 30 minutes. A RM20 valet fee is applicable if you are parked for more than 30 minutes.

These are currently the most affordable public DC chargers capable of pushing over 300kW. Gentari recently revised its kWh-based EV charging rates and their 350kW charger at X Park Sunway Serene now costs RM1.70 per kWh.
