Hate speed bumps? Here’s how Waze can help with its upcoming feature

Waze is one of the most widely used traffic navigation apps out there, and there’s good reason for it too. It offers not just the route to get to your destination the fastest, but also gives you plenty of info on the way such as the weather, police, traffic jams, accidents and more. One feature that’s not on Waze at the moment is speed bump locations, though that could be set to change soon.

The traffic navigation app had previously stated back in 2020 that they adding speed bump warnings was on their roadmap; this came after speed bump warnings became the most requested feature for Waze from users. Just last February meanwhile a Waze employee stated that speed bump warnings will be coming in the near future. This could mean sometime this year or next year, but it’s still nice to know that Waze hasn’t forgotten about it and that speed bump warnings are still coming to the app down the line.

On top of that, another new feature on the roadmap for Waze appears to be lane closures. According to Autoevolution, Waze has confirmed that they’re looking at giving users the ability to report lane closures. At the moment, Waze users can only report a full road closure as well as things like potholes and obstructions, but being able to report a single lane closure would make it much easier for drivers to determine how bad traffic will be before heading out on a drive.

While we wait for Waze to bring these features to the app, the company has already released a number of new features recently. One notable example is a new tool that helps electric vehicle (EV) drivers find the nearest EV charging stations on their route. You can find out more about that here.
