This Chinese New Year, Touch ‘n Go eWallet has rolled out its Money Packet feature which makes it more fun to distribute Ang Pows to your friends and loved ones. Instead of giving individual packets with a fixed amount, why not add a little surprise by distributing eWallet credits with random amounts?

The Touch ‘n Go eWallet Money packet allows you to set a total amount and send it to up to 100 recipients using a single QR code. Nobody will know how much they will be getting until they redeem the Money Packet. As the sender, you will be able to see a leaderboard of who has claimed and the amount received.

To access the feature, you must first update your Touch ‘n Go eWallet app to the latest version. From the home screen, tap on the Transfer icon and then tap on the Money Packet tab on the top right, and then tap on Create Money Packet.

From here, you can set the quantity and the total amount that you wish to send, followed by your customised greeting. Once that’s done, you can either show or print the QR code, or send it as a link to your recipients. Take note that your recipients must also update their TNG eWallet app to the latest version to redeem the Money Packet.

According to the FAQ, the Money Packet QR code is valid for 24 hours upon creation. The minimum number of recipients is two with a total amount of as little as RM1.00, or up to RM1,000. Each TNG eWallet user can create up to 10 Money Packets at a single time. Users can also cancel the Money Packet before it is expired or is fully claimed. If nobody has claimed the balance, the remaining amount will be credited to your TNG eWallet within another 24 hours.
