The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar is kicking off tonight (12:00am 21st November) you can watch the opening ceremony and the first match for free on your smartphone as well as your TV. Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) is a licensed broadcaster and you can watch or live stream 41 out of 64 2022 FIFA World Cup for free in HD quality.

You can start watching from the RTM Klik website without registration required. You can stream at 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p and 1080p quality.
If you have an Android TV media box or TV, you can also install the rtmklik app to watch the matches for free. Just search for rtmklik from the Google Play Store on your Android TV. While Telekom Malaysia doesn’t have the rights to broadcast World Cup matches on RTM channels on its Unifi TV set-top-box, you are able to watch the matches by installing the rtmklik app on the Unifi Plus Box.
The live broadcast will start at 10.30pm tonight (20th November) for the opening ceremony. You can catch the first match between Qatar and Ecuador at 12:00am (21st November) on TV2 and Okey TV. If you missed it, you can watch the replay at 8pm tomorrow (21st November) on the Sukan RTM channel.
Astro is the only broadcaster in Malaysia to show all 64 matches of the 2022 World Cup. All customers on their full Sports Pack will receive complimentary access to all matches which will be broadcasted in both HD (Channel 825 and 826) and 4K UHD (Channel 805 and 806). New Astro customers will be given free access if they sign up for selected fibre internet and TV bundle.
If you’re a Maxis and Hotlink customer, the green telco is giving away 1 million free FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Sooka passes along with free extra 10GB data for Sooka streaming. Sooka is Astro’s streaming platform and you can redeem the passes on the Maxis (iOS, Android) or Hotlink (iOS, Android) app.
Each customer can claim one pass per day and they are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Each pass costs RM9.90 and you will have to enter the daily promo code to get it for free upon checkout. After purchase, go back to the “purchased” match on Maxis TV and then tap on Go to Sooka. You will be asked to register a new account or link your existing ID to your Maxis account.
Alternatively, you can subscribe to Sooka’s FIFA World Cup Pass for RM1.80 per day or RM49.90 for all 64 live matches.
