It wasn’t just smartphones that Huawei had launched in Malaysia recently, as on top of the Mate 50 series and Nova 10 lineup, Huawei also took the time to launch their new midrange tablet option here, the Huawei MatePad SE 10.4.

Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 Malaysia pricing and availability

The Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 will come in two configurations, one with WiFi connectivity only while the other has support for LTE connectivity too. The former will come with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the latter will come with just 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage instead. However, regardless of which one you opt for, the Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 will still cost you just RM999.

You’ll be able to get the WiFi-only MatePad SE 10.4 starting from the 5th of November onwards, while the LTE version will be available sometime later in December. It’ll be available on the Huawei eStore as well as the official Huawei store on Shopee and Lazada, and if you get the WiFi-only tablet before the end of November, you’ll also be able to snag yourself a free folio case and some Huawei Mobile Services rewards worth a total of RM329.

Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 specs

Not to be confused with the refreshed MatePad 10.4 from earlier this year, the MatePad SE 10.4 is actually not too bad of tablet on paper. For starters, you’re looking at a 10.4-inch Huawei FullView IPS display with a 2000 x 1200p resolution for a 225ppi pixel density and a 70.8% coverage of the NTSC colour gamut. The overall tablet weighs just 440g, and Huawei says it’s easy to grip thanks to its “micro-curved” frame design.

Under the hood, the MatePad SE 10.4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 system-on-chip mated to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on the WiFI-only model, while the LTE model gets just 64GB of storage instead. No Google Mobile Services here of course, as it runs HarmonyOS 3 out of the box, though it seems that Huawei has integrated some tablet-specific features such as a multi-window layout and groupable widgets.

Other features of note include a 5MP, f/2.2 rear camera along with a 2MP, f/2.2 front facing camera, a 5,100mAh battery with 10W charging as well as stereo speakers. You can also turn on a Kids Corner feature to make it safe for children to use, with parents able to set brightness, content management and screen time settings among others. The Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 measures approximately 7.85mm thick, and will come in just a Graphite Black colour option.
