AirPods Pro 2: You can now buy Apple’s best wireless earbuds in Malaysia

Back in early September, Apple revealed a plethora of products, most notably of course the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro devices. However, it was a nice treat for the audiophile Apple fans out there as Cupertino would finally reveal the successor to 2019’s AirPods Pro, the AirPods Pro 2. And now, Malaysians can finally get their hands on Apple’s latest and greatest in-ear wireless earbuds.

AirPods Pro 2 Malaysia pricing and availability

The AirPods Pro 2 are priced at RM1,099, the same price that the original AirPods Pro retailed for. As a comparison, the standard AirPods 3 currently goes for RM829, with the MagSafe charging case version a little bit higher at RM879. You’ll be able to get them from the Apple online store with them shipping it in one business day, or you can also get it from the various Apple authorised retailers on Shopee and Lazada.

AirPods Pro 2 specs and features

You might not be able to tell that these are the new AirPods Pro 2 at first glance but under the hood they bring some big new improvements. There’s the new H2 processor powering the AirPods Pro 2, which Apple says will be able to deliver a clearer and richer bass via its low-distortion drivers and a custom amplifier. There’s also a new Adaptive Transparency feature which uses on-device processing to lower environmental noise while still allowing voices to go through.

Elsewhere, the H2 chip also powers some new computational abilities such as improved active noise cancellation that can tune out double the noise compared to the original AirPods Pro from 2019. Spatial Audio also sees some huge gains on the AirPods Pro 2, with a Personalised Spatial Audio feature letting you use the front camera on an iPhone with Face ID capabilities to map the shape of your head and ears to deliver a more immersive listening experience.

You’ll also find that instead of just squeezing your AirPods Pro 2, you can also just touch and swipe on the stems to control the volume of your music. The skin detection sensor has been improved too for better automatic pause and play which should improve battery life too. Speaking of battery life, Apple rates the AirPods Pro 2 for up to six hours of music with ANC on with a total of 30 hours once you factor in the case.

And as for the case itself, there’s also now a lanyard loop on the side for you to attach a lanyard. They come with IPX4 sweat and water resistance, and use Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. Oh, and there’s also an extra small ear tip now for those of you with smaller ears.
