During the tabling of Budget 2023, Minister of Finance Tengku Zafrul announced the extension of Pakej Remaja Keluarga Malaysia until April 2023. This is a special data package aimed at providing affordable internet for youths that was first introduced in late 2021.

The plan which costs RM30 provides a longer validity of 3 months, and it is said to be 50% cheaper than standard data plans. The Pakej Remaja Keluarga Malaysia is currently offered by most local telcos including Celcom, Digi, Maxis and U Mobile, with 20GB of data valid for 3 months. For individuals who need a new 4G phone, several telcos are also offering free devices on contract.
