Here’s how much the OnePlus 10T will cost in Malaysia, along with pre-order goodies

As promised, OnePlus has finally revealed the Malaysian pricing of the OnePlus 10T today, two weeks after the smartphone made its global debut. Again, the company’s latest model will only be available in a single maxed-out variant with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at RM3,199.

While it’s a shame OnePlus didn’t manage to sneak the 10T under the RM3,000 mark, it’s still impressive that the phone is quite a bit cheaper in our market than it is in the United States, where it costs USD749 (around RM3,350). It’s also a whole RM1,000 cheaper than the 10 Pro while offering a newer processor, nearly double the charging speed and more RAM, although there are quite a few trade-offs to get the 10T to this price – as you’ll read later.

Just as we’ve previously reported, retail sales of the 10T will kick off in Malaysia on September 1. However, you’ll be able to get your phone a bit earlier if you pre-order on Lazada or Shopee now, with deliveries starting on August 28. OnePlus has also announced it will offer a few goodies if you get your orders in before August 31.

These include one year of screen protection worth RM199, a one-year warranty extension worth RM99 and one year of accidental damage protection worth RM299. And if you’re one of the first 50 (25 on Lazada, 25 on Shopee) to book the 10T, you’ll also receive a mystery box that includes a RM100 storewide cash voucher; you’ll also be entered into the running to win a OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite worth RM1,199.

To recap, the 10T is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and gets the aforementioned 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. But its biggest draw is the 150W SuperVOOC fast charging feature – the fastest in the market, apparently – that will juice the 4,800mAh battery from 1 to 100% in just 19 minutes.

In order to lower the price while making way for all the new bits, OnePlus has had to make a few sacrifices. Unlike the 10 Pro, the 10T doesn’t come with wireless charging or any Hasselblad branding and trades the 50MP ultra-wide, 8MP telephoto and 32MP selfie cameras for 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and 16MP front shooters. The 6.7-inch OLED display also has a lower Full HD+ resolution, although it still has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

Other features include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint reader and support for face unlocking. The OnePlus 10T ships with Android 12 and the OxygenOS 12.1 launcher, with OnePlus promising three major Android updates and four years of security updates.
